Acting is not a straight line. Even the best thespians have their own methods of reaching their ultimate destination, of creating memorable, believable characters. Watching Traitor is like watching two actors teaching a master class, each armed with those traits that make them timeless performers. Their characters are not larger than life, which is precisely why watching what these venerable talents can do with them is so entrancing.
Don Cheadle’s genius is in finding an emotional center for each character he plays, whether it’s the gun toting Mouse Alexander in Devil in a Blue Dress or his heartbreaking Oscar-nominated turn as Paul Rusesabagina in Hotel Rwanda. Though he fits many of his characters with accents and different devices to hide within them, what always comes out is their emotion.
Conversely, Guy Pearce is

This week's delectable delights include, amongst other things, such highbrow morsels as a gallery retrospective on D.I.Y. art and a crash course in the history of the California vineyards. If that's not your cup of proverbial tea, there's always psychotic bikers and the ballad of two stoned losers on the run from gangsters and the police.
More than 15 years after founding the hugely influential Alleged Gallery in New York, the freelance curator Aaron Rose continues to serve as a cornerstone of the now-global D.I.Y. art scene. Here he teams with "Blair Witch" actor-turned-director Joshua Leonard to chart the evolution and subsequent commercialization of a movement whose genesis was found in a group of outcasts, slackers and misfits from the fringes of subculture. Emerging from the dirty little worlds of surfing, skateboarding and street graffiti, a group of artists including the likes of Harmony Korine,

I probably don't have to tell you that a movie based on a Toby Keith song - any Toby Keith song - is probably not going to be knocking on the door to the AFI list anytime soon. But hey, at least this isn't the movie based on the Toby Keith song where we put a boot in your ass...because that's the American way. Uh-huh. And it's worked out really well, by the way.
No, this is Beer for My Horses, and the song with that name is not the worst country tune I've ever heard, but it's far from the best. It's an Ok ditty if you're out drinking with your friends, I suppose, and that's probably both its inspiration and purpose. The song is a duet between Keith and Willie Nelson, both of whom are in the movie, although Willie has what appears to be a limited role (a shame,

Every July 4th Eve (aka July 3rd) for as long as she can remember, young Rose has put her head down in the modest, though happy, home she shares with her poor, though happy, family and dreamt of waking up to find an extravagant Bbq with grilled hot dogs and hamburgers as far as the eye can see, and a massive fireworks display--complete with some of those fancy smiley-face fireworks--lighting up the night sky. Also, Rose dreamed that there would be a movie adaptation of the Toby Keith song, "Beer For My Horses" starring Ted Nugent, cause she thoroughly enjoyed the song when it came out in 2003, and Rose is a big fan of hunting and ridiculousness. Of course, Rose's family was far too poor (but happy!) to make the big Bbq and fancy fireworks dream come true, and Beer For My Horses: The Movie was...
