Chris Pine Starring In 'The Art Of Making Money' For Director D.J. Caruso

James Tiberius Kirk already cheated his way to victory in the Kobayashi Maru test, and now he's putting his fast-thinking talents towards making money — well, his real life persona is, at least.

According to Variety, "Star Trek" actor Chris Pine is teaming up with "Eagle Eye" director D.J. Caruso for "The Art of Making Money," an adaptation of reporter Jason Kersten's fact-based novel "The Art of Making Money: The Story of a Master Counterfeiter." Frank Baldwin — no apparent relation to Alec, Daniel, William and Stephen — is writing the script.

The title refers not just to the creative component of moneymaking, but also to the story's central figure of Art Williams Jr., presumably played by Pine. The novel focuses on the real-life counterfeiter who conjured millions of dollars in false bills thanks to his amazing attention to artistic detail.

Blue Skies for 'Cloudy,'Hazy Starts for 'Surrogates,' 'Fame'

27 September 2009 11:23 AM, PDT | Box Office Mojo | See recent BoxOfficeMojo.com news »

Moviegoers came back for a second helping of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, but the new items on the menu, Surrogates and Fame, didn't fly. That led to a weekend that was off seven percent from the same timeframe last year when Eagle Eye landed. Standing as the only broadly appealing movie among recent releases, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs dissipated by a mere 19 percent, generating an estimated $24.6 million and lifting its total to a solid $60 million in ten days. Its drop was less than such comparable titles as Open Season, Meet the Robinsons and Chicken Little, though it may have a steeper decline in its third weekend, when the Toy Story double feature will claim much of its 3D attention. Surrogates plugged in with an estimated $15 million on approximately 3,600 screens at 2,951 sites, or a fraction of what the similar I, Robot started at. The science fiction thriller »

LaBeouf's Looking To Date His Mum

4 May 2009 6:40 PM, PDT | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Shia LaBeouf's ideal girl is someone just like his mum - because his mother is the "sexiest woman" he's ever known.

In a candid upcoming Playboy magazine interview, the Eagle Eye actor recalls his mum's "goddess-group time" when she and her hippie pals would parade around the family home in the nude.

He explains, "It's literally a bunch of naked women tracing auras around one another's bodies with incense and then sitting together and humming for prolonged periods of time."

Although slightly embarrassed by his mother's free-spirited nature as a child, the grown-up Labeouf has learned to appreciate her naked form.

He adds, "Probably the sexiest woman I know is my mother. She's an ethereal angel. Nobody looks like that woman. If I could meet my mother and marry her, I would. I would be with my mother now, if she weren't my mother, as sick as that sounds." »

Vampire blockbuster Twilight and Oscar-winning Slumdog Millionaire will lead the charge at the 2009 MTV Movie Awards after scooping seven and six nominations, respectively.

Slumdog Millionaire stars Freida Pinto and Dev Patel are also up for the Breakthrough Performance accolades, while the film will go up against Twilight, The Dark Knight, Iron Man and High School Musical 3: Senior Year in the Best Movie category.

Meanwhile, Anne Hathaway (Bride Wars), Angelina Jolie (Wanted) and Kate Winslet (The Reader) join Stewart in the Best Female Performance line-up, and Zac Efron (High School Musical 3), Shia Labeouf (Eagle Eye) and Robert Downey, Jr. (Tropic Thunder) will fight it out for the Best Male Performance title.

Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana: The Movie) and Vanessa Hudgens (High School Musical 3) will go head-to-head for the Breakthrough Performance Female award, while Cyrus is also nominated for Best Song From a Movie for Hannah Montana.

Real-life Slumdog Millionaire lovebirds Patel and Pinto have also earned recognition in the Best Kiss category, alongside Twilight's Pattinson and Stewart, James Franco and Sean Penn for Milk, and Paul Rudd and Thomas Lennon in I Love You, Man.

The Dark Knight's Christian Bale and the late Heath Ledger will battle it out for Best Fight alongside Seth Rogen, James Franco and Danny McBride for their scrap in Pineapple Express.
