50 Cent Covets Chace Crawford's Charm

13 November 2009 11:51 PM, PST | Celebrity Mania | See recent Celebrity Mania news »

Despite being one of the richest rappers and has won several awards, 50 Cent seems unable to beat Chace Crawford when it comes to winning a crowd of screaming girls. He admitted to be shocked to know how girls went crazy over Chace on set of their upcoming film, "Twelve".

"You should see how the girls go crazy over Chace," he recalled as quoted by E! Online. "I'd see these people standing around, jumping up and down, and I'd say. 'What is going on?' Did they see me?' But then I'd see Chace standing outside. I need to get in on that."

Although Chace looked like to be the most popular of the two, 50 has nothing but good words for the "Gossip Girl" star. Talking about how good Chace is when portraying White Mike, the rapper praised his co-star, "He was really, really good on set. I mean, he'll »

Exclusive Video: Carla Gugino Is One of the Women in Trouble

13 November 2009 6:09 AM, PST | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Career-wise, there seems to be no trouble on the horizon for actress Carla Gugino. The actress best known for Robert Rodriguez's Spy Kids films and her role on TV's Entourage has been busy lately working in some of Hollywood's most successful films starting with Rodriguez's Sin City in 2005 and followed by Night at the Museum with Ben Stiller, American Gangster opposite Russell Crow, Righteous Kill with Robert De Niro and Al Pacino and most recently the starring role in Disney's remake Race to Witch Mountain. But it was her role earlier this year as Sally Jupiter in Zach Snyder's brilliant comic book-adapted Watchmen that made her a household name amongst fan-boys and the actress will be collaborating once again with Snyder in his upcoming film Sucker Punch!. However, the she can currently be seen on screen as porn star Elektra Luxx in director Sebastian Gutierrez's new female-ensemble-comedy Women in Trouble, »

Super-Boring ‘Everybody’s Fine’ Poster

20 October 2009 1:02 PM, PDT | Movie Cultists | See recent Movie Cultists news »

With a great cast led by Robert De Niro, Everybody's Fine could be a good movie. But everything we're seeing so far (check out the trailer, too) is bland, bland, bland. De Niro has made some well-documented career  missteps in recent years -- Rocky and Bullwinkle and Righteous Kill come to mind -- so comparatively, a Family Stone-style holiday movie full of low-key problems and happy montages isn't that bad an idea.  But the poster, below, just looks cheesy.  I mean, look at that hand on the right.  Very clearly not Robert De Niro's hand.  Also very probable that all actors ... »

‘The Wild Things Are’ Atop the Box Office

19 October 2009 2:37 PM, PDT | newsinfilm.com | See recent newsinfilm news »

Warner Bros’ moody Where the Wild Things Are landed on top of the box office with $32.7 million, beating analyst expectations and competition from the Gerard Butler/Jamie Foxx movie Law Abiding Citizen.

The children’s book adaptation may be PG, but it certainly didn’t play like a kids movie on the screen or in the numbers. 43% of the audience was over the age of 18 and only 27% were families, according to a Variety analysis.

The studio managed to overcome skeptical word of mouth after a test footage leak and whisperings of editing battles with director Spike Jonze.  After years of post-production (filming started in April 2006), Jonze was able to turn the $80 million production into a product suitable for release and recommended by 68% of critics on Rotten Tomatoes.

Law Abiding Citizen finished in second, but still over expert predictions.  With the star power of Gerard Butler (in his third movie this »

The Bride returns? Uma Thurman keen on ‘Kill Bill 3′

15 October 2009 2:57 PM, PDT | ReelLoop.com | See recent Reel Loop news »

The Bride may be back. Uma Thurman, who played the deadly sword-wielder in Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill Vol.1 and Kill Bill Vol.2, recently chatted with MTV about a possible Kill Bill Vol.3 while promoting her latest project Motherhood. “Yeah, I think it’d be fun,” the hot 39-year-old said.

“[Quentin and I] did chat, we did chat. He has not yet finished the script. I don’t even really know if he’s really started it, although I got a taste of some of his ideas and they are really good.”

When asked if she could share any of said ideas, the blond bombshell replied, “I can’t tell you! I’m sorry!

Not as sorry as we are.

Last month we told you that Quentin Tarantino was pondering a third entry in the Kill Bill saga. “The Bride will fight again,” he said. “I have to wait a couple of years »

Quentin Tarantino announces ‘Kill Bill 3′: Is it a ruse?

2 October 2009 5:16 AM, PDT | ReelLoop.com | See recent Reel Loop news »

Has Quentin Tarantino officially announced Kill Bill Vol. 3 or has the acclaimed director pulled some shennigans?

The beloved auteur announced that a third Kill Bill movie may hit theaters in 2014.

While on the Italian talk show Parla con Me, the Tarantino admitted that he and Kill Bill star Uma Thurman “needed a ten-year break before making another installment in the revenge saga.”

“The Bride will fight again,” he said. “I have to wait a couple of years because I want ten years to pass from the second one to the third one. For two reasons – one, I think me and Uma need a ten-year break because the first one was so hard. Second, I love the character. I just really, really love her.

“I think she deserves ten years of peace! Ten years of no fighting and ten years with her child Bb. I put her through a lot and »

Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs only fell an estimated 18.8 percent, the 26th smallest drop of all time (of films that opened in at least 3000 theaters). Alert commenters Jm and Nick both had Meatballs winning, but even they didn't have it cracking $20m. However, commenter Steve probably was most apt with his "Good weekend to get caught up on videos" take. It was the third worst weekend of the year, and the miserable financial September continues. Let's break it down! #1 movie predicted correctly: 0 Weeks In A Row 1. Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs It still needs another $190m before it can start thinking about profit, so they've got to be thrilled the film showed strength this weekend. It it wins again I promise I'll actually see it. Result: 24.6 million (My rank: #, $m off) 2. Surrogates It didn't do as well as I thought it would, and it certainly didn't do as »

Paul Haggis Hires Three For His Pic The Next Three Days

24 September 2009 12:18 PM, PDT | Slash Film | See recent Slash Film news »

It's difficult for me to get very excited for a new Paul Haggis directorial project. The stain of Crash stays with me. But The Next Three Days could be interesting. It's a remake of a 2008 French film Pour Elle by Fred Cavaye about a couple that has some problems when the woman is imprisoned for a murder she says she didn't commit. Russell Crowe and Elizabeth Banks are the headliners, but three more have just been added to the cast. THR reports that the RZA is one of the three. No, I didn't see that one coming, either. Also on board is a kid named Ty Simpkins, from Little Children and Revolutionary Road, and far more interesting is the final add: Brian Dennehy. I feel like I haven't seen Dennehy do much in a while, but that's because I missed Righteous Kill. He's negotiating to come on board as the »

Messages Deleted Trailer

21 September 2009 5:36 AM, PDT | Atomic Popcorn | See recent Atomic Popcorn news »

Matthew Lillard doesn’t have the chops to be a good dramatic actor. I learned this years ago with Thirteen Ghosts. However, you can’t blame the man for trying, because there aren’t any Scooby Doo sequels on the horizon. (There is a made for TV prequel coming, though, if that’s your thing. Lillard isn’t involved.)

Director Rob Cowan (The Crazies remake, Righteous Kill, The Net) has completed screenwriter Larry Cohen’s Messages Deleted, the third in a string of phone-centric films from the writer following Cellular and Phone Booth.

While the central concept of the film isn’t altogether bad, Lillard seems silly and Deborah Kara Unger doesn’t seem to help. The official plot synopsis is as follows:

A quivering voice begs screenwriter, Joel Brandt, to pick up the phone on a message from his answering machine. Thinking its a prank, Joel deletes the message. »

Melissa Leo chats 'The Fighter'

16 July 2009 7:59 AM, PDT | digitalspy | See recent digitalspy news »

After scooping an Oscar nomination for Frozen River playing a woman who smuggles immigrants into the Us to make a fast buck, Melissa Leo scored a sought-after role in David O. Russell's The Fighter. In it, she plays the mother of Boston boxer "Irish" Mickey Ward (Mark Wahlberg) and trainer Dicky Eklund (Christian Bale). Digital Spy recently caught up with Melissa, who spoke enthusiastically about the sports drama and compared Wahlberg and Bale to Al Pacino and Robert De Niro. Are Mark and Christian quite intense actors to work with?

"In very opposite ways. A few years ago I had a very blessed experience of being on the set of Righteous Kill and watching Al Pacino and Robert De Niro, two all-time heroes. The way they approach a role could not be further than the North and South Pole and it's kind of the same with Mark (more) »

Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson (as he's billed in Hollywood) has found fame and fortune as the real-life embodiment of everything your typical policeman would be interested in arresting you for. Now, the former drug dealer and street thug is playing a cop for the first time in this month's "Streets of Blood" — and yes, he is fully aware of the irony.

"It's absolutely a huge difference," 50 Cent said of his character Stan Green, a family-oriented cop teamed with Val Kilmer's Andy Devereaux to solve a series of murders in a post-Katrina New Orleans. "But then, it wasn't."

50 Cent to Remove Tattoos for Movie Career

Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson (Righteous Kill) has opted to have some of his very prominent tattoos removed, to better accommodate his career in Hollywood. "I took some of the tattoos off because on the movie set, if we got a six o'clock call time, I have to be there two o'clock the night before," he explained to AllHipHop. "I gotta go through four hours of make up before we go ahead and play the role. So, I just took it off my arm. My right arm." The G-Unit founder has not completely done away with his tattoo. He still bears the two on his back, the signature "50 Cent" and "Southside" tattoos. 50 Cent will next be seen in "Streets of Blood," which stars Val Kilmer, Sharon Stone and Michael Biehn. The new movie is about the street gangs and corrupt law enforcement in post-Hurricane Katrina New Orleans. »
