It's always refreshing to see a show that tries to be creative. Especially these days.
The problem with Pushing Daisies is that it advertised its purported creativity long before anyone had seen a frame of the show.
The result is a show that instead of being actually creative tries very hard to have all the trappings of "creativity" and ends up just being over the top and overwrought.
The best example of that is the narration. Without it, Pushing Daisies would still be a bit over the top and trying too hard, but would probably be enjoyable anyway.
With the unceasing, pretentious and precious-sounding narration, it becomes just an annoying show, something that true creativity wold probably have corrected in time.
