A man is found dead in a river, obviously killed. The main characters are the two police women from the town police responsible for major crimes.
One police women just moved from another town to the current in order to become the new partner of another police women. Soon they begin to have a good and open relation. The end is funny, sad and positive at once but a bit short. The movie is fantastic.
Most German movies may be good in many levels but they are weak in entertaining. This movie profs that the German understanding of making a movie (show reality, show human behaviors,...) can actually be much more and perfectly entertaining beyond most US Movies.
The two police women behave very natural. It is acting at its best, but it is even more: scripting at its best! The two women are very often alone together, and the dialogues are like when women are alone and no men in the room. You see them in the bathroom together, you see how the new women begins to get to know the old team, as persons, how they work, how they proceed, what they like and dislike...
The script is just brilliantly describing reality and you really learn about how people and yourself behave in situations (like for example, being in a new position,... ). The script uses one of the classical elements in crime/police movie. It shows how people and the viewer behaves through a story. You are always observing how the murder is observed and dialogued by the Inspector. You observe the behavior of the murderer and constantly compare it to normal behavior in such a situation. Is he acting like a murder or like someone who is not guilty? Is he guilty or not? Through this constant Analise of the viewer (achieved mainly through good scripting) the movie becomes an very intellectual movie and enriching the viewer by still - and even more - being totally entertaining.
Brilliant Dialogues, good Camera, brilliant Acting, good Storry,
