Attention Glambert Nation: Word on the Net is the American Idol runner-up sees marquee lights in his future. According to the website Showbiz Spy, Lambert has expressed a desire to act, a passion he's pursued in the past (his rep would not comment). It seems a fitting goal, considering the singer's flair for the dramatic. But as we've seen with previous Idol contestants, competition show stardom doesn't always translate into Jennifer Hudson-esque big-screen stardom. (Even a proud owner of From Justin to Kelly like myself will admit that.) Even Idol season 5's Kevin Covais -- a.k.a. "Chicken Little »

Toys, candy, and board games? Whoop-doo!
In the last few weeks, a ludicrous number of generic sounding movies have been greenlit on the backs of well-known toy store properties. Battleship, Bazooka Joe, and Barbie are just some of the many weird, bland, go-nowhere flicks that have been announced for production. Soon, we'll be inundated with these lame brained franchises, and it's all because of the box office success won by Transformers and G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. In this new age of socioeconomic depression, a filmmaker has to arrive in his pitch meeting with some sort of name recognition. Otherwise his epic masterwork will forever languish in the recesses of his brain like a trapped prisoner.
It won't be too long before high-minded folks figure this out, and start using household items to sell their unique and interesting art house flicks or high concept action comedies. There's a wealth of interesting toys, »

Plot: A young man (Cregger) wakes up from a four year coma only to learn the girlfriend (Alessi) he once pledged his virginity to now poses for Playboy magazine. Along with his perverted friend, (Moore), he travels across the country to the Playboy mansion in hopes of winning her back.
Who’s It For? Fans of Cregger and Moore’s sketch-comedy group “Whitest Kids U Know” need to be careful. If they don’t set their expectations slightly above “National Lampoon’s Straight to DVD College Movie,” they risk disappointment.
Movie:
These two “Whitest Kids” may share brain waves with 13 year olds, but at least they bring some of their seasoned originality from sketch comedy to a blueprint originally worked up by »

If you're anything like me (and my girlfriend), you love meerkats. In case you don't, let me ask how you can resist the adorable little critters, their huge eyes and their constantly wet nose? No need to answer. If you like meerkats, you're probably already familiar with Meerkat Manor, the long-running documentary / reality narrated by Bill Nighly (or Sean Astin / Stockard Channing if you live in the Us). The shows' stars like Flower, Mozart or Zaphod are so "famous" that they have their own imdb pages with enraged fans posting on Flower's message board about the need for a more detailed biography or at least putting in Flower's date of death on her resumé. Today you can read an interview with Brollyman, who gives his first interview here about doing Meerkat Manor in addition to some other animal reality programs such as Lemur Island and Lemur Street.

After a period of time not having Nickelodeon star Drake Bell on television, he is coming back on screen with a new television series "Fish Tank," a comedy series by CBS! You may have known him from the popular Nickeloden series Drake & Josh, playing a playful teenager who goes through daily life with an annoying sister (Miranda Cosgrove) and a stepbrother who has a completely different personality. Bell, 22, was asked by CBS to star in this new pilot. With the addition, they will be able to start production soon. The show would be about a teenager who winds up getting the family house to himself during the week when his parents start commuting. Drake has many credits to his experience in Hollywood, starring in "Yours, Mine and Ours", "College" and "Superhero Movie." This series will be produced by Josh Goldsmith and Cathy Yuspa of Sony Pictures TV. The big question »

I still can't get over the fact that "Miss March" features a scene in which a chick unlocks a door with her tongue. Yeah, that pretty much tells you a lot about the movie already, right?
Written and directed by Zach Cregger and Trevor Moore, "March" follows a young man who awakens from a four-year coma to hear his former high-school sweetheart has become a "Playboy" centerfold.
Determined to win her back, he and his insane best friend embark on a cross-country road trip straight to the Playboy mansion.
The new red band trailer you can check out after the jump is obviously a lot raunchier than the first preview. Brainless slapstick seems to rule the day in "Miss March," and I can only hope it won't be as disgusting as last year's "College."
"Miss March" opens March 13, 2009. »

Chicago – We apologize to the people behind these four titles but the star power is a little dim in this edition of HollywoodChicago.com’s DVD Round Up. When a canceled vampire series is arguably the biggest release in a four-pack of titles, it’s a weird edition of the Round Up. Prepare yourself.
“Amusement,” “City of Ember,” “College,” and “Moonlight”. A straight-to-dvd horror movie, a TV series cancelled after one year, and two movies that barely opened in theaters and made a Combined $13 million in domestic gross. These titles are for specialized audiences but that’s why we love the Round Up. Enjoy.
“Amusement,” “City of Ember,” and “Moonlight: The Complete Series” were released on January 20th, 2009. “College” was released on January 27th, 2009.
