The Office Quotes: "Double Date"

8 November 2009 9:42 AM, PST | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

Thursday's episode of The Office, "Double Date," centered on what was probably the most awkward such date in the history of dating: Pam-Jim and Michael-Helene (Pam's mom).

It was so awkward, in fact, that the awkwardness was multifaceted. Pam hated the fact that Michael dated her mom at all, but when he dumped her for being too old? Look out.

This wasn't the best episode in the history of the show by any means, as the primary plot went on a bit too long. But the culmination of Pam's anger with Michael was priceless.

Fool got smacked. Hard. In the parking lot. With an audience. As Phyllis said, "holy crap."

Meanwhile, the B-story was Dwight trying to win allies for a coup against Jim. But, however unwittingly, Andy refused to play along with Dwight's plan to get people to "owe him one."

Bagels in hand, Dwight seeks to get his co-workers to "owe him one. »

Red John to Terrorize Again on The Mentalist

3 November 2009 4:55 AM, PST | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

He's coming back.

Red John, the man that murdered Patrick Jane's family, is getting ready to kill again on The Mentalist. Viewers should circle November 19 on their calendars - and then possibly hide under a desk.

On the episode titled "His Red Right Hand," the Cbi team finds a dead body in a cemetery.

"And then [the case] takes some twists and turns involving Red John,” producer Ashley Gable told TV Guide Magazine. “It is clear they are dealing with something much darker. And our [main cast] will be in jeopardy.”

Fans can look forward to another appearance of the mystery murderer’s signature red smiley face.

But what about the man himself? Will we learn his identity on November 19?

“I can tell you for sure we will not,” said Gable. “The answer is locked in the brain of [show creator] Mr. Bruno Heller, the keeper of the secret. Talk to me in Season 7.”

We're gonna take that as a no. »

Uma Thurman Talks Kill Bill 3

16 October 2009 12:08 PM, PDT | ScreenRant.com | See recent Screen Rant news »

We recently learned that Inglourious Basterds writer/director, Quentin Tarantino is officially planning to do a third installment in his Kill Bill saga. “The Bride will fight again!” shouted Qt in his trademark enthusiastic way on the Italian talk show, Talk To Me. He revealed he wants pt. 3 to take place 10 years after the events of Kill Bill Vol.2, presumably so that (Spoiler alert) Vernita Green’s daughter can be old enough to track down The Bride to get revenge for killing her mother right in front of her (that seems the most logical plot for a third movie).

So what does the actress who played the vengeful Bride, Uma Thurman have to say about Kill Bill 3? Well, MTV recently caught up with her while she was promoting her upcoming comedy, Motherhood, and she offered the following:

Alynda Wheat's Beat Cop: A moment of silence for 'Southland'

9 October 2009 2:55 PM, PDT | EW.com - PopWatch | See recent EW.com - PopWatch news »

Let’s bow our heads for a moment of silence. As we learned last night, NBC snuffed out one of our favorite procedurals, the gritty, fantastically acted Southland. You’d think shoving Jay Leno down our throats for five hours of primetime would be injury enough, but no—they had to add insult. This, NBC. This is why TV viewers are dropping network for cable in ever-greater numbers. Viewers know cable offers the kind of risky, investment-heavy programming that’s rare on network television these days, and what’s better, cable will actually stick with it. Take a show like Mad Men. »

Tarantino Announces His Intention To Make Kill Bill 3

1 October 2009 10:47 AM, PDT | ScreenRant.com | See recent Screen Rant news »

If, like me, you’re a huge fan of writer/director Quentin Tarantino, you will be excited by this little piece of news from BadTaste.it: He intends to continue the messy adventures of The Bride with a third Kill Bill movie! During an interview on the Italian chat show Parla con Me (or “Talk To Me”), Tarantino was asked (from what I can understand - the questions are being asked in Italian) if he would be making any follow up films to his previous work, and after saying, “it will never happen,” to a Pulp Fiction sequel, he reveals his intention to make Kill Bill 3.

Tarantino doesn’t give us any solid details on what Kill Bill 3 (Vol. 3?) might be about (I’ll get to what I think it will be in a minute), but this is understandable since it’s (presumably) just in the idea stages at the moment. »

6 Mouthy Movie DJs Richard Curtis Would Hate

3 April 2009 2:30 AM, PDT | TotalFilm | See recent TotalFilm news »

The Boat That Rocked floats into cinemas today, and while Nick Frost, Bill Nighy, Philip Seymour Hoffman and co take a decent stab at wild DJ antics, there's plenty of movie DJs that could probably have done a better job. But, for one reason or another, they didn't get invited onboard. We've compiled a playlist of microphone bellowers Richard Curtis would probably rather see walk the plank than appear in one of his movies. The DJ: Ralph Waldo “Petey” Greene Jr (Don Cheadle) The Film: Talk To Me (2007) Listener... .

Eddie Murphy playing Richard Pryor?

1 March 2009 6:30 PM, PST | TotalFilm | See recent TotalFilm news »

Eddie Murphy is attached to play comedian Richard Pryor in Bill Condon’s biopic Is It Something I Said? Taking its name from one of the legendary laugh-grabber’s most famous comedy albums, the script has been floating around Hollywood for a while – at one point, Talk To Me’s Kasi Lemmons was trying to get it made. But now, with Condon writing and directing and his Dreamgirls star on board, he’s in a position to start shopping it around the studios. Pryor, who died in 2005, was known for his searing... .
