Gabrielle Union, star of films such as "Meet Dave" and "Daddy's Little Girls," was on hand to lend support to Russell Simmons last night as he brought his Argyle Culture collection to Funkshion Fashion Week in Miami Beach, Fl.
"Russell's been a friend of mine for years and I was in town and he was like 'You gotta come through!' And it's his birthday also so it's two-fold," she said.
Union was eager to talk about her new movie, "Cadillac Records", the story of the rise and fall of Chess Records and the violence, racial conflict, and the legends that rocked Chicago music world in the 1950's. In the film, Union plays Geneva Wade, girlfriend and later wife of blues legend Muddy Waters.
