The Dubois are such a wholesome family, the characters are so lovable, with any quirks they might have (or actually because of that) and the way their relationships are built. We start in the kitchen with the Dubois family having breakfast and suddenly we realize that there's a new member: in fact, is their "oldest" child, a boy of about 15, having an argument with his dad Joe about some skateboarding stuff laying in the garden. It's all so very normal, as it would be in thousands of homes around the world... until the kid starts choking and we get really scared, and then Allison wakes up and it was all a dream, a recurrent dream about her unborn child which she has every spring. The story then develops with some twists (as we could expect) with the same boy showing up again. What makes this work out so perfectly is Patricia Arquette. She really steals your heart. Her behavior towards the boy is totally disarming, her expression (like when he's choking in the kitchen) is of such love and despair, what a great actress!. The actor who plays her son (Noel Fisher) also impressed me: he goes from a sweet, innocent looking boy, to a dead eyed freak, possibly a monster (the scene in the bathtub) as the episode unfolds. Great writing too, I don't have a child but this episode made me cry my eyes out as it made me feel deeply all the motherly issues.
