"Lou Grant" takes top voice-over honors!, 24 June 2006

The two-part "Little Girl Lost" episode is a milestone on two fronts: it's the first installment to build upon the character of "Supergirl" and it's the first time that "Granny Goodness" gets a chance to speak..and what a voice. Apokolip's resident "matron of evil" is voiced by none other than Edward Asner himself, who seems to relish playing a devilishly wicked female. His inflections and grandmotherly intonations are a hoot, especially when his character is about to commit something most sinister.

The story also features the appearance of three other female antagonists from Darkseid's world, "Mad Harriet," "Trouble," and "Lashina," all superbly voiced by Andrea Martin, Scott Menville, and Diane Michelle, respectively. Nicolle Tom, formerly of "The Nanny" is on the money as the voice of "Supergirl/Kara." Even "The Today Show's" Al Roker gets to voice an animated version of himself doing what he does best: give the weather.
