Revealing mistakes: Statements are made that it's January in Boston, but the leaves on the trees in the surrounding areas, and the attire worn during the film, suggest very clearly that it's early fall.
Continuity: In the opening scene football game, "Never say no" Joe drops back to pass from the 25 yard line, then decides to keep it and run with it. As he begins to run to the end zone, he takes off from the 15 yard line.
Factual errors: The movie is stated to take place in January, but Joe and Peyton watch ESPN's coverage of the 2007 Subway 500, which was on Oct. 21st of that year.
Continuity: When Peyton gives Joe the cookie in the car, the bites he takes out of it keep changing between shots.
Factual errors: When the film opens, the football game being played is in the 4th quarter. Take a look at the player’s uniforms. The white pants are not dirty at all. After an hour of playing on grass all the players' uniforms would not be still clean.
Revealing mistakes: The scene where the camera pans the stadium about 3/4 of the way through the film looks like a scale model with a fake background.
