Exclusive Stills and Clip from Unaired Fear Itself Episode: Chance

9 September 2009 6:44 PM, PDT | DreadCentral.com | See recent Dread Central news »

Between its September 15th DVD release date and FEARnet running the unaired episodes, there are plenty of ways to dig on what you didn't see while "Fear Itself" was on TV. For those of you without cable who are curious for a taste, we've got an exclusive clip and stills for you from an episode called "Chance".

"Chance" is directed by John Dahl (You Kill Me, The Last Seduction) and written by Lem Dobbs (The Score) and Rick Dahl (Red Rock West). In the vein of such classic doppelganger stories as Jekyll & Hyde and Poe's William Wilson, the episode explores a dreadful, classic battle that ensues when a man, played by Ethan Embry (Brotherhood, Sweet Home Alabama), is confronted by his evil self. Also starring are Christine Chatelain (“Smallville”) and Vondie Curtis-Hall (“ER,” Soul Food). Premieres on FEARnet: 9/6 -- Ends 9/16

Scorsese's 'Boardwalk Empire' Series Picked Up By HBO

2 September 2009 10:33 AM, PDT | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

Buscemi to star in Boardwalk Empire

Rome.  Deadwood. Band of Brothers. From the Earth to the Moon.  These are only a few of the fantastic period pieces that HBO has produced in the past and if one things clear, the cable network excels at this type of programming.  They can now, potentially, add another series to the above list.  HBO just announced that Boardwalk Empire, from Martin Scorsese and starring Steve Buscemi has been picked up as a new series.

The new series takes place in 1920's Atlantic City in the heat of Prohibition and chronicles the rise of the city's boardwalk from a quiet seaside resort to the casino empire it has become today.  Nucky Thompson (Steve Buscemi) is a cross between a local politician and a bootlegging gangster, and we get to watch how he runs the city through the political and criminal angles.  We'll also get to »

Unaired Fear Itself Episodes Hitting FEARnet in September

6 August 2009 1:12 AM, PDT | DreadCentral.com | See recent Dread Central news »

"Fear Itself" should be pretty fresh in your minds considering it's hitting DVD soon with some very bitchin' artwork. The short-lived show was like the unofficial third season of "Masters of Horror". For various reasons it was pulled before it could run its final five episodes. FEARnet is out to fix all that.

Starting on September 2nd the final five will begin being aired. Below you'll find a synopsis of each episode and when you can tune in to see them.

"Something With Bite," directed by Ernest Dickerson (NBC’s "Heroes"), is a reinvention of the classic werewolf story from writer Max Landis ("Masters of Horror"), the son of John Landis ("An American Werewolf in London"). When a veterinarian (Wendell Pierce, “The Wire”) is bitten by a large, strange animal brought into his clinic, he begins to see the world and his stale life differently. Brotherhood: Showtime TV Show Is Really Over, No Season Four

30 June 2009 7:21 AM, PDT | TVSeriesFinale.com | See recent TVSeriesFinale news »

We've suspected the bad news for months but now, it's been confirmed that the Brotherhood series has indeed been cancelled by Showtime.

Brotherhood revolves around the lives of two brothers in an Irish-American neighborhood in Rhode Island. Tommy Caffee (Jason Clarke) is a family man and local politician while his brother Michael (Jason Isaacs) is a professional criminal who's involved with the Irish mob. Others in the cast of this gritty drama include Kevin Chapman, Annabeth Gish, Fiona C. Erickson, Brian Scannell, Kerry O'Malley, Fionnula Flanagan, Madison Garland, Billy Smith, Frank Ridley, Matt Servitto, Ethan Embry, Brian F. O'Byrne, Tina Benko, and John Fiore.

The series debuted on Showtime on July 9, 2006 and, despite some very positive reviews, Brotherhood didn't attract a lot of viewers; just 450,000. Showtime nevertheless renewed the show for a second season -- albeit one made up of only 10 episodes. They started airing in September of 2007 and the »

Steven Grant’s 2 Guns Gets a Writer

15 April 2009 7:20 AM, PDT | Beyond Hollywood | See recent Beyond Hollywood news »

Sometimes a comic book sounds more like a movie, which is the case with Steven Grant and Mat Santolouco’s “2 Guns”. The story is described as a buddy cop movie, a throwback to the ’80s “Lethal Weapon” and “Tango and Cash”, and Boom! Studios, the company behind the comic, has tapped Blake Masters, the creator of the Showtime show Brotherhood to adapt the series into a live-action movie for them. The article doesn’t make clear if “adapt” means he’ll just write it, or if he’ll also direct. According to THR, the plot of “2 Guns” finds a DEA agent and an undercover naval intelligence officer who are unwittingly investigating each other and who steal mob money for the good guys. They realize later that the mob actually got them to swipe $50 million from the CIA. See, that’s why you can never trust the mob. Sure, they’re all, »

'Brotherhood' star Jason Isaacs thinks fame overrated

10 April 2009 5:21 AM, PDT | Monsters and Critics | See recent Monsters and Critics news »

Jason Isaacs thinks acting is 'silly'. The star of the "Brotherhood" series on Showtime and 'Harry Potter' actor - who plays Lucius Malfoy in the movie adaptations of J. K. Rowling's popular books - has blasted his profession, branding it a "ridiculous" way to earn money. He said: "Along the way, the idea that I get dressed up and pretend to be other people for a living has seemed sillier and sillier to me. Acting is an inherently narcissistic thing to do a lot of the time." The 45-year-old British star says fame is "bizarre", and finds it strange that fans scream for him at movie premieres but treat him like a normal person the rest of the time. »
