...that seems to be the fate of this very interesting and funny little film. I'never seen anything like it before which probably goes some way to explaining the vitriol spouted in several magazine crits I've read - I can only think they don't know what to make of it.
I've seen it once and thought it was very clever and as i said funny (in my opinion) so why all the fury? I think just that - it's clever and quite acerbic and that's what most critics seem to want to aspire to. I think they just hate being shown something that says everything they wish they had had the wit to say first.
Anyway - I'd say go along and see this. It's rare a comedy garners so much praise and loyalty on one side and so much hatred and venom on the other.
