sometimes people are turned off by this film because it is not an actual documentary, and they think it is. i made the movie and didn't write the description. it's actually fake and fully scripted and shot on 16mm film. there's no way the lighting and camera tricks could have been pulled off in an actual documentary without the director interfering with reality. it's good the "grrls" anger people. it's kind of the point. among other things. i wrote it making fun of "local celebrity" and bands. making fun of myself, ultimately. the cast are not actual musicians, at least they don't play the instruments they played in the film. they are actors. it's a fake documentary. the lighting is very calculated. the music in the movie is actually sung by a couple of the actors, but the music is recorded by a completely different (actual) band. it's not as over the top as most fake docs are (it has become a whole genre of itself the fake documentary over the years), but subtle. i think it's funny when people think the movie is real.

so i just caught this on cable access.

seriously, what the hell?

It was titled as a "documentery."

I'm gonna have to call BS on this one. I've seen ed wood movies better scripted than this. And i'm not just talking "Plan 9." I'm going all the way to orgy of the dead.

Basically, this is about a few indie punk chicks with no talent that can't make it in the record business. I'm pretty sure they've broken up by now or grown up and made babies.

I'm not sexist and i love punk but these girls can't sing and can't write anything but 3 chords. Punks not dead, a bunch of women studies majors just took it over.
