Zombie Business is an example of how film can continue to be a medium of social commentary without losing high cinematic quality and commitment to the genre. The journey begins in the depiction of the kind of life we see daily: people heading to work, protesters seeking support for their causes, street people seeking food and shelter and help from anyone willing to help. This tedium quickly reveals an underlying horror that emerges to great power and devastating outcomes.
Anyone who questions the connection between the marketplace and the revenge of its victims needs to see this short film. DeGiglio-Bellemare portrays the relationships between the workers, the street people and the activists as an organic machine that inevitably begins to devour itself.
Chilling stuff.
