Trivia:
In the scene where Nicolas Cage is zapping through TV channels, he stops at one showing the movie Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964), leaving it on for the FBI to listen to. The plot of "Dr. Strangelove" is about a rogue general attempting to start a nuclear holocaust with a wayward nuke. An obvious reference to the nuke in Next (2007). moreGoofs:
Errors in geography: When Agent Ferris explains Frank Cadillac's predicament (stolen vehicle, attempted armed robbery) she tells him he could end up in Folsum State Prison. Folsum is a California prison, the crimes were committed in Nevada. moreQuotes:
[first lines]Emcee: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the man who knows what you're going to do before you do it. The amazing Frank Cadillac!

Alright, so you're thinking of what movie to watch. You have a mental list and 'Next' happens to be one of the movies on that list. Well, clearly the title is telling you to skip to the next one. Cominh back to the film in question, 'Next' does have its moments, moments of unintentional comedy. Yes, some of it is so bad that it's funny. But, the thing is that it did have potential of being an engaging action flick (even though I find the 2 minute-sometimes-extending-todays pre-cog thing weird). Tamahori is a funny director. It as the fresh casting of Cage, Moore and Biel that got me interested in this movie. Nicolas Cage balances unconvincing expressions with melodrama. Jessica Biel plays the typical girl you'd like your mother to meet. She does look very pretty though. The chemistry between them is so soap-opera like. But for me, the biggest disappointment was how Julianne Moore is wasted in a role that could be played by any average actress. With Moore's name to the cast, I always expect better but the actress isn't given much to grind. Oh well, ask me about this movie and my answer shall be 'Next!'.
