'Glee' Castmate's Dream Guest Star? Reba McEntire!

18 hours ago | Extra | See recent Extra news »

"Glee" star Chris Colfer tells "Extra" he's enjoyed covering Top 40 artists like Beyoncé as a member of the high school choir on the hit Fox show, but you shouldn't expect to hear any Garth Brooks or Carrie Underwood tunes performed on the show.

"I couldn't do country, with all due respect to all country music artists," says Colfer, who plays Kurt.

Jamie Campbell Bower Compares His Twilight and Harry Potter Experiences

7 November 2009 2:07 PM, PST | movies.about.com | See recent movies.about.com news »

Name the two biggest film franchises currently in production. Now name one actor who's in both. Jamie Campbell Bower (best known for his role alongside Johnny Depp in Tim Burton's Sweeney Todd) is fortunate enough to be a supporting player in the second Twilight movie, New Moon, and in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Parts 1 and 2. Bower plays Caius, a member of the Volturi, in New Moon, a role he'll reprise if/when the final Twilight book, Breaking Dawn, is made into a movie. And in Harry Potter #7 and #8 Campbell Bower portrays Gellert Grindelwald, a character who makes his first appearance in the series as the Harry Potter franchise winds to a close.

"He's an old friend of Dumbledore's, a possible lover," offered Campbell Bower at the La press day for New Moon.

'Twilight' star Jamie Campbell Bower wants Tim Burton to direct 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn'

5 November 2009 8:47 PM, PST | Twilight Examiner | See recent Twilight Examiner news »

Jamie Campbell Bower, who portrays Caius in The Twilight Saga: New Moon, has not, it seems, forgotten the source of his big break in the film industry. You might remember him as Anthony in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street, and, if you do, you'll know that it was director Tim Burton (as well as the minor detail of phenomenal castmates like Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter) that ushered in Bower's career as a film star. Since then, of course, Bower has continued to make a name for himself with roles in films like RocknRolla (by Guy Ritchie) and Winter In Wartime. He's also been cast as the elusive Gellert Grindelwald in Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part I and Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part II. Yet, when MTV interviewer Eric Ditzian asked Bower who he'd pick as director of the not-yet-officially-greenlit The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn (which, »

Tim Burton Suggested for 'The Twilight Saga's Breaking Dawn'

5 November 2009 6:58 PM, PST | Aceshowbiz | See recent Aceshowbiz news »

Question on who will direct "The Twilight Saga's Breaking Dawn" should it is materialized is still left unanswered, but actor Jamie Campbell Bower has an idea whom he wants to see behind the lens for the project. In an interview with MTV news, the Caius depicter in "The Twilight Saga's New Moon" rallies behind director Tim Burton for the part.

"It'd be cool if Burton came and did 'Breaking Dawn'," the 20-year-old voiced his mind. He further said of what the "Sweeney Todd" director may bring, "I think he'd just change it up. I think he'd screw around with it quite a lot, and aesthetically, I think it'd be incredibly different. I don't know if the fans would like it, but I'd sure like it."

Before Bower spoke about Burton, the name of Chris Weitz had been flying around for potential director. Though so, the helmer of the much awaited »

Jamie Campbell Bower Wants Tim Burton To Direct 'Breaking Dawn'

'I don't know if the fans would like it, but I'd sure like it,' the 'New Moon' vampire tells MTV News.

Tim Burton digs supernatural stories: the goth-comic ghost tale of "Beetlejuice," the headless killer from the great beyond in "Sleepy Hollow," the undead love story of "Corpse Bride." In a way, Burton knows vampires too, resurrecting Bela Lugosi — the definitive cinematic Count Dracula — in the Oscar-winning biopic "Ed Wood."

All of this has made "New Moon" vampire Jamie Campbell Bower think that Burton should direct "Breaking Dawn," the expected film adaptation of the final book in Stephenie Meyer's "Twilight" series.

"It'd be cool if Burton came and did 'Breaking Dawn,' " Campbell Bower told MTV News of his "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street" director. "I think he'd just change it up. I think »

Movies That Make Me Think of Halloween

30 October 2009 9:51 PM, PDT | FilmExperience | See recent FilmExperience news »

Recycled Film Experience! I wrote some of this in advance -- years in advance in fact -- to free up time to enjoy this costume crazed holiday. I originally published this list in 2005, but I've tweaked it some. Plus, not all of you were around in 2005. Herewith, the top 12 movies that remind me of Halloween. It's a top ten list and it's not even Tuesday. I'm so generous.

12 The Batman franchise (1989-2008)

In 1997 I went out Halloween clubbing as the Uma version of Poison Ivy. Whenever you dress up as a movie character the year the movie comes out, you'll have competition. There was another Poison Ivy there but I buried her, I promise. I had the horns and all the details, see. It was the longest I ever spent getting ready for Halloween (which is saying something): glue guns, orange wigs, fake foliage, you name it. I don't try as hard anymore. »

Who Should Play Frank Sinatra: Depp, Dicaprio or Clooney?

27 October 2009 4:24 PM, PDT | Fandango | See recent Fandango news »

If the Guardian is to be believed, Martin Scorsese has narrowed his choices for Frank Sinatra down to three of today's biggest A-list names: Leonardo DiCaprio, Johnny Depp and George Clooney. Scorsese, who's set to begin shooting the film next year, would like to put DiCaprio (the director's latest muse) in the role. And why not – DiCaprio certainly has the good looks and enough swagger to play Sinatra during his earlier years as a rising star and playboy. Definitely a good fit.     However, executives at Universal would rather Johnny Depp take on the role after being impressed with his take on John Dillinger in this past summer's Public Enemies. Depp, unlike DiCaprio, also starred recently in a movie-musical (Sweeney Todd) where he sang all the songs himself. Perhaps...

I remember when the Treehouse of Horror was appointment TV

20 October 2009 8:02 AM, PDT | AOL - TVSquad | See recent AOL - TVSquad news »

Even after I'd given up on watching The Simpsons every week many years back, I continued tuning into their annual "Treehouse of Horror" specials, the most recent of which aired Sunday. After a few more years of watching just that one episode each year, I eventually let it go as well. But I've been watching this 20th Anniversary Season of the show, and reviewing it for the site, so I settled in to see what we'd be tackling this year.

As always, the special is broken into three parts. This year's batch: a send-up of Alfred Hitchcock films, 28 Days Later, and Sweeney Todd. That sounded promising enough, and yet ...

Maybe I'm too old for the "Treehouse." Or maybe they just try and do too much. Or maybe, as was the case with all three of this year's segments, they have decent enough set-ups, but their endings are all stupid.

Ah, London. There's no place like it in the minds of many, not least Johnny Depp's Sweeney Todd, though his reasoning may not be quite the message the tourist board are after. Since the advent of the motion picture, it's provided a backdrop for films ranging from the comic to the dramatic, the grounded to the other-worldly. It's played itself as often as it's played other cities, both real and imagined. To celebrate the wealth of filmmaking past, present and future that has taken place in the capital, Rt thought it high time to take a cinematic trip around the... »

TV Review: ‘The Simpsons’ Scares Up Few Laughs With ‘Treehouse of Horror’

18 October 2009 12:11 PM, PDT | HollywoodChicago.com | See recent HollywoodChicago.com news »

Chicago – Even the most diehard fans of “The Simpsons,” a group of which I would proudly call myself a member, would admit that the last few seasons of the show have been disappointing at best and, at times, downright bad (especially the current season we’re in, which has produced fewer laughs than anything on Fox Sunday nights). The annual “Treehouse of Horror” episode has usually been a reliable standby, a bright spot even in weak seasons. If “Treehouse of Horror Xx” is the bright spot of this season, it’s going to be the worst in the history of the show.

Television Rating: 1.5/5.0

For years, starting around season twelve (and that may be generous), “Simpsons” fans like myself used to fall back on a crutch that went something like “Even sub-par “The Simpsons” is better than most TV.” Sure, we knew that the writing wasn’t nearly as clever »

The Simpsons' Treehouse of Horror Xx

16 October 2009 11:40 PM, PDT | TVStar | See recent TVStar news »

It wouldn't be Halloween without the annual Treehouse of Horror episode of The Simpsons. Actually, it would be, since the Treehouse of Horror episodes usually -- perversely -- air after Halloween. But this year, perhaps to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Treehouse concept, or maybe just because it was done in time, Fox will air the episode in advance of Halloween, on October 18 to be exact. So what's on tap? Well, there's an amusing intro (Frankenstein in a SpongeBob costume is a cute touch), followed by the credits sequence in which, as usual, the major players are given the Halloween treatment. So, for example, series creator Matt Groening is billed as Bat Groening. You get the idea. Then, also as usual for the Simpsons newbies out there, the episode is broken into three separate segments. In the first, Lisa is miffed that her teacher has picked another student to »

[DVD Review] Gnaw

16 October 2009 11:00 AM, PDT | JustPressPlay.net | See recent JustPressPlay news »

When I looked at the box for Gnaw, my first thought was “Ew. I have to watch this?” followed closely by “mmm, pie.” Surprisingly, it was decently watchable. The story is pretty simple. Six friends go on vacation together to Blackstock Farm, located in the middle of nowhere. Part of the way through the trip, they begin to get picked off one by one and brutally murdered by the Slaughterman. He then grinds them up to be baked into pies that will be eaten by the next group of visitors, or should I say victims?

While not exactly the most original of concepts (ever seen Sweeney Todd?), the construction of the story is undeniably up to par. Set in the English countryside, the scenery is gorgeous, and the characters are realistic and complex. The cast members are definitely selected for their acting skills rather than their faces, unlike most slasher flicks. »

Bonnie Wright and Jamie Campbell Bower Said Dating

Rumor has it, Bonnie Wright and Jamie Campbell Bower are dating. The two film stars reportedly were seen attending a recent event at London's Saatchi Gallery together and acting like a couple.

One of the onlookers who witnessed Bonnie and Jamie's togetherness at the affair tells WENN, "They seemed very close, very intimate. They were definitely together." Though so, neither Bonnie nor Jamie has acknowledged that they are lovers.

18-year-old Bonnie Wright is best known for her starring role as Ginny Weasley in the "Harry Potter" films. She has previously admitted to being a "Twilight" fan, yet saying the film's leading actor Robert Pattinson isn't her type. Sitges ’09: My Sitges Story—Part 7

13 October 2009 12:16 PM, PDT | Fangoria | See recent Fangoria news »

Friday, October 9

Genre great Clive Barker is the star of Spain’s Sitges ongoing movie orgy today (see last report here and go here for the fest’s official site), as both his new productions, Book Of Blood and Dread, will be unveiled back-to-back at 12:30 a.m. Barker himself will be receiving the event’s prestigious Time Machine award for career excellence and conducting a “Master Class” for festival goers the next day.

I briefly enjoy catching up with Barker and his assistant, Robb Humphreys, in the hotel lounge. It’s unfair of me to bend Barker’s ear for long, though. The man has never been to Sitges before, so it’s time to let the large numbers of Spanish fans and professionals have their own audience with the creator of Hellraiser, Nightbreed and Abarat. I do glean that his Midnight Pictures banner still has a deal to »
