I suggest to all that you should see the film without thinking much about the plot, because it's not well defined here. That said, the character interaction between Eddie and his family should not be missed. David Wenham does a fantastic job as Eddie, a very likable character.Amanda's role in Eddie's life needed to be fleshed out a bit more. And perhaps not having the whole film in flashback might have given it the tension it needed to carry through to Eddie's downfall. By having it in flashback, the question of "why am I being shown this?" cropped into my head on more than one occasion. Also, being an American in Australia at the time of seeing this, I wondered how American audiences would take to it, since it's not a typical Hollywood film (Thank God).Still, I liked it. If you like David Wenham films, I recommend it. Just don't look for the plot. Watch it as a series of events in Eddie's life with no real beginning, middle or end.Oh yeah, one more thing. I had no problem with the situation Eddie is put in with Nick toward the last 30 minutes or so of the film. I found them amusing and poignant. I didn't find it unbelievable at all.
