Factual errors: Every time a CSA flag is shown, it is the Confederate Battle Flag. This flag was only used by CSA military units. The actual flag of the CSA consisted of a white field with a red bar, and the Battle Flag as a union (similar to the stars on the current US flag).
Factual errors: The narrator states that when Jefferson Davis signed the order to annex the defeated north, that the song "Dixie" "...replaced the national anthem." At the time this would have occurred, there was no national anthem. "Hail Columbia" was the unofficial anthem through the 19th century, but other songs were also used. In 1929, Robert Ripley published a cartoon that proclaimed "Believe It or Not, America has no national anthem." In 1931, President Herbert Hoover, following a recommendation by John Philip Sousa, signed the bill authorizing "The Star Spangled Banner" as the anthem. This goof is, therefore, both a factual mistake and an anachronism.
