• Continuity: When Sam is driving Cassie home for the first time, we see his vehicle turning before we hear her voice telling him where to turn.
  
  
• Continuity: When Cassie first gets her ex-husbands file, it has a rubber band around it, but when she goes to open it the rubber band is gone.
  
  
• Continuity: Cassie puts a bag of cookies on an end table when Sam confronts her in her houseboat. Though neither of them touches it, the bag has turned round later in the scene.
  
  

• Continuity: Justin tells Richard to give him the surgical gloves. Richard already has one of the gloves fully on, yet hands both to Richard without taking it off.
  
  
• Continuity: Justin's hair changes during the final conversation with Richard at the bluff.
  
  
• Continuity: Cassie's robe is tied loosely around her neck, then jumps to being tightly tied between shots.
  
  
• Continuity: When Cassie first looks at the blurry picture of Richard from the ATM there is a Range Rover in the background (to the left) but when we see the picture later, after it has been cleaned up, the Range Rover is gone.
  
  
• Continuity: After Richard shoots Justin, when Cassie starts pulling Justin away, there is clearly no wound on his upper arm. The wound only appears after she has finished dragging him away.
  
  
• Crew or equipment visible: When Justin and Richard are at the bluff (after Justin hits Richard) and Justin is walking away, you can see crew/equipment in the car window, closest to the screen (furthest away from Justin.)
  
  
• Continuity: After Justin slaps Richard, you can see the microphone on the bottom of the screen.
  
  
• Continuity: When Justin and Richard are carrying the body to the trunk of the car, they are not wearing gloves. This would have left fingerprints on the plastic wrapping the body yet none were found.
  
  
• Revealing mistakes: It is said that there are no fingerprints from Justin or Richard, but they are shown carrying Oliva's dead body wrapped in plastic to the car and neither of them have gloves on, thus there should have been fingerprints from Richard and Justin found on the plastic that the dead body was wrapped in.
  
  
• Continuity: Richard's hair goes from long to short and back to longer in a matter of days.
  
  
• Factual errors: The active ingredient in marijuana is delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, not "tetrahedral chloride" as identified in the film, other than the comparison to pot, the character's description of absinthe is otherwise correct
  
  
• Crew or equipment visible: During the interrogation scenes, there is a flashback to Justin dumping the body. In the close -up shot of his boots, the camera equipment's shadow can faintly be seen to his right.
  
  
• Continuity: After Justin slaps Sam, Sam embraces him with Justin's head high up on his shoulder - in the next scene Justin's head is "slumped" and lower against Sam's body.
  
  
• Continuity: When Sandra Bullock's character is testing her theory by busting the clock on the deck of her house boat you see a boat come by leaving a large wake yet her boat remains stationary and doesn't rock from the waves
  
  
• Revealing mistakes: When Cassie picks up the envelope from the Correctional Center, there is no mailed to address on the front of the envelope. When she opens the envelope, the front of the envelope is facing the camera and the front of the envelope is blank except for the return address.
  
  
• Continuity: After Justin slaps Richard by the car parked next to the abandoned house on the bluff, the blood on Richard's face and hands appear and disappear.
  
  
• Factual errors: Justin's confession would have been inadmissible seeing as he asked for an attorney before admitting to the crime. Any threat, coercion or trickery used by the police after an attorney was requested is completely improper procedure.
