Dagon (2001) More at IMDbPro »

The content of this page was created directly by users and has not been screened or verified by IMDb staff.
Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, that you instead use this new feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes .

Sex & Nudity

Some sexual themes, almost no nudity.

A woman in sacrificial garb is mostly naked in the unedited version though scantily clad in the edited version.

The mermaid in Paul's dream is topless (though this is not explicit in the edited version).

Violence & Gore

There is some violence and little gore in this movie.

A man is skinned alive.

Several people are stabbed to death.

A man covers himself in kerosene and lights himself on fire.

Profanity

A few uses of S-- and F--- word as well as Damn and Hell.

There is a little civilized drinking and Barbara smokes.

There are many intense scenes in this movie.

The entire film was shot to be intimidating and frightening in just the town itself, never mind the happenings in it.

There is an implied offscreen rape.

Human skin leather is seen in a warehouse and worn as masks.

There are several suicides.

There is an implied incest relationship.

There is a lot of cult and occult activity in this film.

The town is full of monstrous fish-men a lot creepier than the Creature from the Black Lagoon.

The edited version is not so bad, but may still be inappropriate for children.
