This film is tough, it shows how cruel children can be to each other. How violent they can get, when they grow up on the wrong places. And what desperation can do to a kid.
Detective Max Ballauf tries to clear up a case that involves the death, of his neighbor's son. The boy committed suicide in the school toilet, he shot himself into the head.
The Detective visits the school and is shocked by the violent treatment between the kids. Children of immigrants try to come over as cool and aggressive, they oppress younger and smaller kids. Youths, who grow up under poor circumstances or with worse parents, act like criminals carrying knives and chains around.
The most violent boy is Tucky. He lives together with his alcoholic dad in a pretty messy apartment. Together with another guy, he'd been teasing the dead boy. They teased him so much that there was only one way for him to get out of it...
As I wrote before, this film is a huge shock! The title means "Children Of Violence" in English! It's sad and horrible to see how teenagers treat each other. You can provoke racism(if foreign kids always try to make a mark) and suicide(through the whole bullying).
Tom Schilling's performance as Tucky is outstanding! He portrays the young boy with such an aggression and passion, it's amazing!
