The first Alvin Purple film was fun to watch.Nothing like it had really been done in an Australian movie before and the things Alvin got up to were fairly amusing. The sequel was of course nothing but a carbon copy of the first. That was enough. But turning it into a sit-com was really milking the cow for all it was worth. The writers just couldn't think of any ways to make the tired concept more interesting and all they could seem to come up with was lame slap stick chases and different places for Alvin to make love to the girls. His room mate is annoying as hell too.
