He had Hollywood at his feet at the age of 25. So why has Rupert Everett never lived up to that early promise? Here, the outspoken actor talks about homophobia, deranged A-listers and why Madonna isn't speaking to him
Can anyone look more world weary than Rupert Everett? At certain points in the interview, he gives the impression of having been in the acting game since at least the dawn of time, if not before. These are eyes that have seen it all – glittering success, abject failure, critical acclaim, the best reviews on earth, the worst. But then, at times, his career trajectory has resembled the cardiogram of a 60-a-day, overweight smoker: up, down, up, critical, dead, alive again! He was a star at 22, a has-been at 30, a Hollywood ingenue at 40, and here he is again, aged 50, still handsome, still game, gadding around in the new St Trinian's film in a »

Watch enough movies and you learn pretty fast that they aren't about reality, they're about entertaining us. Which sometimes makes the world of the biopic a little tricky, because not only do you have to work in the truth, but you still have to keep those butts in the seats -- and the results are not always good. Over at Moviefone they've compiled some of the worst movie biopics, and no one was safe -- with films earning a spot for mixing up their facts, ridiculous casting, or just downright lazy filmmaking.
So who made the list? Well, you've got your usual suspects like Oliver Stone's Alexander, a film that has so much wrong with it I don't know where to put the blame (oh, that's right, on everyone). Other films that made the cut for the less than flattering title of 'Real Life Catastrophes' were Kevin Spacey's Bobby Darin flick, »

In a set of interviews with E! News this week, Glee cast members spoke on what Madonna songs they'd love to see featured on thew Fox hit.
These wishes aren't like a prayer, however: they may actually come true!
The show has received permission from the Material Girl to use any single in her catalog, and producers are seriously pondering an all-Madonna episode some time in 2010.
"I really think it would be awesome if Kurt did 'Don't Cry for Me Argentina' from Evita," said Kevin McHale, who plays Artie, and is featured prominently on the November 11 episode. "He could go on top of the school with his arms outstretched. That would be hilarious."
McHale, pictured, added: "I just can't wait to see Amber [Riley, who plays Mercedes] do a Madonna song. I know she's going to rip it apart."
Without stuttering like her character Tina, Jenna Ushkowitz said:

Miramax Film’s “Chéri” marks the reunion of director Stephen Frears, screenwriter Christopher Hampton, and actress Michelle Pfeiffer, who previously worked together on 1988’s deliciously evil costume drama “Dangerous Liaisons.” Here, Pfeiffer trades in the virginal innocence of her “Liaisons” character for the hardened beauty and shrewd business acumen of the less than virginal Lea de Lonvsal. Set during the prosperous Belle Époque era in pre World War I France, “Chéri” tells the charming and ultimately heartbreaking story of how Lea, an aging courtesan, finds herself falling unexpectedly in love with a man young enough to be her…well, son. That synopsis might make it tempting to label “Chéri” “cougar” cinema, but let’s allow that somewhat degrading term to rest on billboards advertising the latest pedestrian sitcom, rather than a film this pedigreed. More after the jump:
Based on two novels by bad girl French writer Colette, “Chéri” opens »

The Queen of Pop invades high school.Hide the children!
So the latest news to leak out of Entertainment Weekly’s upcoming Glee issue is that Madonna has granted Ryan Murphy’s baby full rights to use anything in her catalog for the show. And that the show plans on producing a full blown Madge episode.
I’ll wait for a minute while some of you finish squealing. Done? Because the rest of the class wants to hear the rest of the story, and I figure you do, too.
So we were just looking at the Material Girl’s catalog, and it includes a huge amount of content from over the years. There’s a sound for just about everyone, and the topics range from sex (Erotica) to politics (American Life). So we got to thinking about what song would be perfect for what character to sing in the all-Madonna episode. »

Cirque de Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant is unearthed this week. John C Reilly stars as a vampire who performs at the Cirque Du Freak. He meets a young boy, and agrees to take him on as an apprentice.
The screenplay is written by Brian Helgeland. I recognised the name, so i looked up his filmography. It turns out he has written the screenplay’s of many films, including La Confidential, Conspiracy Theory and Payback, having also directed the latter. And along with the Wachowski brothers (The Matrix), he has a screenplay credit for a personal favourite of mine. So join me as i look back at Sylvester Stallone and Antonio Banderas, as they play Assassins.
I knew nothing of Assassins myself when it was released in 1995. It was only a couple of years later that i spotted it on video, intrigued by this movie i’d never heard of. »

Hello, Jose here to remind you all that it's Madonna's birthday!
The Queen of pop/ businesswoman/ kabbalist/ mother/ 90's tabloid fodder/ safe sex advocate/ sex advocate/ entrepeneur/ icon is celebrating her 51st birthday today (and with those arms!). But along with everything she's done, many people forget (on purpose mostly...) that she's also an actress/director. The notorious perfectionist has never been able to master the cinematic arts, even if she tries and tries and tries. But since it's her birthday we should acknowledge that not all she's done for the silver screen is bad and since we can't take a holiday to get into the groove with her, here's...
51 Reasons to Celebrate Madonna... in the Movies!
51. Daring to take on a role created by Katharine Hepburn...sort of in Who's That Girl.
50. Her endorsement of Michael Moore.
49. Setting a whole new clothing trend with Desperately Seeking Susan.
48. Her deep love for classic films. »

After seemingly disappearing for a while, the Governor of South Carolina is back home and facing the music. Mark Sanford left the state last Thursday, claiming he was hiking on the Appalachian Trail and needed to get some writing done. But it turns out he jetted to Buenos Aires to meet with a woman with whom he was having an affair. The Governor said in a press conference that he would resign from his position as head of the Republican Governor’s Association but would remain in office. Sanford was considered a frontrunner to challenge Barack Obama in the 2012 election.
It’s still unclear how Sanford ended up carrying on an affair in South America, but it’s possible that he was transfixed by Madonna’s performance as Eva Peron in 1998’s “Evita.” She does make Buenos Aires seem pretty great, doesn’t she?

Antonio Banderas has admitted that sex scenes make him uneasy. The 'Evita' star said that ever since he turned 50, he has become "wary" of taking on roles that require him to be intimate with an actress, The New York Post reports. He said: "It's always uneasy when you get into bed with a woman on screen - it's difficult because you have 50 people around and there are some people who (more) »
