Continuity: Just after the explosion, when Lovell is saying "we've got multiple caution and warnings, Houston," the MET clock (Mission Elapsed Time in hours, minutes, and seconds) is plainly visible reading 091:34:10. When next seen less than a minute later, it has backed up to 056:55:12.

Compelling Drama.

Now that man has landed on the moon, the American public has lost interest in the space program. For the crew of Apollo 13, it was a routine mission that went horribly wrong. Jim Lovell (Tom Hanks), Fred Haise (Bill Paxton), and Jack Swigert (Kevin Bacon) are the crew who are the middle of this whole quagmire. Back at mission control, flight director Gene Kranz (Ed Harris) and his crew try to figure out how to bring the crew home alive. A taut and engrossing drama. All the main actors give strong performances, but Harris is the stand-out. The opening of the movie showing the disaster of Apollo 1 is very well filmed with beautiful music. On a trivia note: In "Forrest Gump" Gary Sinise's character Lt. Dan said "the day you become a shrimping boat captain is the day Ibecome an astronaut." Sure enough, he plays Ken Mattingly in this movie. "Apollo 13" is a captivating drama that despite some Hollywood creative licensing, shows true stories are great material for motion pictures.
