Sex & Nudity

There is a mating scene between two cats. References to sex and male genitals. There are ancient paintings of people having sex hanging on the walls of someone's house (seen several times).

Violence & Gore

There are fairly gory scenes throughout.

-The first two cat corpses have their throats torn with some blood shown.

-We see a cat's corpse with her head torn off (a lot of blood is shown).

-A cat corpse is shown with her throut torn, stomach torn open, and unborn kittens strewn out.

-The final confrontation with the killer is very gory and intense. The killer's stomach and chest are torn open in the battle. His organs, lungs, and ribcage all spill out.

-Francis's dream sequences feature very frightening and disturbing images.

-There is a scene where Francis watches recordings of animal experimentation in which cats are used for cruel medical tests. Some cats are shown bleeding from the head after acid is pourn onto their heads during the expirements.

-Cats electrocute themselves during a suicidal ritual. No blood ior anything graphic is shown in this scene.

Hard to believe this movie only recieved a "12" rating in Germany.

Profanity

Frequent use of minor swears (god-damn, hell, etc.) some use of the "s"-word, but the "f"-word is never spoken.

One character swears heavily in every scene he is in, and appears quite often.

Pretorius drinks heavily, but he is only in the film for a short time.

Despite only receiving a "12" rating in Germany and a "13" rating in Spain, this movie is quite obviously not intended to be shown to young children. There are increasingly nightmarish dream sequences shown throughout which are very surreal and graphic. Much of what is described in the "Violence and Gore" section will absolutely terrify young children. Probably not a good idea to let children under 13 watch this movie, unless you think they can handle it.
