In "Columbo Cries Wolf", Columbo suspects the murder of a Los Angeles woman who failed to arrive at an important meeting in London. Columbo says he is investigating the disappearance as a favor to his old friend, Detective Chief Superintendent Durk of Scotland Yard, a character from "Columbo: Dagger of the Mind (#2.4)" (1972).

Goofs:

Continuity: Ian Buchanan's accent is inconsistent throughout the movie, often his natural Scottish accent coming through in certain sentences he speaks.

A good Columbo, not the usual formula

Lieutenant Columbo investigates the disappearance of magazine company owner Dian Hunter. Columbo suspects foul play and believes the co-owner of the magazines Sean Brantley is responsible. Columbo unearths several telling clues and all he has to do is find the body. But, is it possible that the great detective has made a mistake? Ian Buchanan (Brantley) is a great Columbo villain and the plot keeps the viewer guessing right until the end. One of the best films of the series.
