Hey now, Snapshot is a much better title for this than "The Night After Halloween" (as the box says) and "The Day After Halloween" (as the opening title of the video says), because this has diddly-squat to do with Halloween, not even a pumpkin in evidence....of course, this is made in Australia and I have no idea if they even have pumpkins there. This is more like some kind of psychological horror type of flick, about a young hairdresser that dreams of getting away from her mother, her "boyfriend" (who drives a Mr. Whippy truck), and her dull life. Somehow she stumbles into modeling and with one topless picture she becomes somewhat of a hot property. But her mom & her boyfriend & sister seem determined that she go nowhere. And this movie kind of goes nowhere, too. I'm sure it was only about an hour and a half but it seemed WAY longer, and while it comes full circle from the beginning to the end in showing how something came to pass, that's probably the most interesting part of the movie and everything in between is just filler. A thriller that isn't. And what of Magnum Video?
To read the box I'd wondered if I got the wrong movie in the case, but it does have Chantal Countouri's name on the box so it must be the same one. Hard to believe from their description it's the same film but misrepresenting movies so they sound better has always been around, I reckon. 4 out of 10 stars.
