Fun Stuff

Trivia:
The National Transportation Safety Board investigated the accident. The report was issued April 14, 1972. In the report the NTSB concluded "...the accident was the result of a descent below Minimum Descent Altitude during a non precision approach under adverse operating conditions, without visual contact with the runway environment...". The report goes on to conclude that "...two most likely explanations (for the greater descent) are (a) improper use of cockpit instrumentation data, or (b) and altimetry system error." more
Goofs:
Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): Anne's hand is shaking pretty hard when she reaches out to give Paul the engagement ring back (the shot is from Paul's point of view). The camera cuts to a view from behind Anne and her hand is suddenly very still for the duration of that shot. The shot changes back 10 seconds later to be from Paul's view and Anne's hand is shaking again. more
Quotes:
Nate Ruffin: Coach, that... was my team. They left it in my hands.
Jack Lengyel: No... no, they did not. They just left.

Great Movie!, 11 December 2006
9/10
Author: TreyDizzle from United States

This was really a great movie for anyone that's spent time in West Virginia. I was very surprised at some of the things McG chose to cover in the movie. For instance, the Marshall coaching staff took a trip to Morgantown to ask Bobby Bowden (WVU) to teach them the veer. Everyone I've spoken to that is a WVU student or fan had no idea that happened, nor did anyone from Huntington. Very Emotional on many levels and I thought the writers, producers, and director really did the town of Huntington some justice by making it as real as possible and not "hollywoodville." There were some things that you could tell were thrown in there to make the story more dramatic, but the story was dramatic from the very beginning. You should really waste the 7 bucks to see this one....cause its absolutely worth it.
