'Fringe' exclusive: Look who's playing Walter's wife (and Peter's mom)!

6 hours ago | EW - Ausiello Files | See recent EW.com - The Ausiello Files news »

The Bishop family unit is complete! Irish actress Orla Brady — you may remember her as James Woods' ex on Shark — has nabbed the pivotal role of Walter's other half and mother to Peter, sources confirm to me exclusively. The character — described in the initial casting breakdown as strong, smart, and likable — will debut in early '10. Thoughts? She kind of has a Lena Olin vibe going for her, no? Kate Gosselin Gets to Work on New Show

5 hours ago | People.com - TV Watch | See recent People.com - TV Watch news »

While Kate Gosselin says her kids miss the camera crews now that Jon & Kate Plus 8 is over, they may now have a reason to be jealous of their mom. Gosselin spent more than three hours filming a segment for a new show at a diner in Raleigh, N.C., on Tuesday morning. The reality star mom served pancakes and grits to customers at Finch's Restaurant on Peace Street, according to Wral.com. The local news station sent a reporter to the restaurant but she was booted by Gosselin's bodyguard, who said they were shooting a "test segment" for a future »

'Rex Is Not Your Lawyer': Psyched for the David Tennant-Jerry O'Connell pilot?

6 hours ago | | See recent news »

When news broke that Jerry O'Connell had replaced Heroes' Sendhil Ramamurthy opposite Doctor Who's David Tennant in the NBC pilot Rex Is Not Your Lawyer on the eve of production (Ramamurthy is said to have had a scheduling conflict), I was concerned. Like everyone who loves the fact that O'Connell is currently enrolled at L.A.'s Southwestern Law School, I was worried it meant that he was dropping out. Rest easy. A rep for O'Connell (pictured left) tells EW that he intends to juggle both the show, set at a law firm, and law school, if the pilot gets picked up. »

As The World Turns cancelled

9 hours ago | AOL - TVSquad | See recent AOL - TVSquad news »

First Guiding Light and now this: CBS confirmed this morning that they are canceling another long-running soap opera. Don't worry Young & The Restless fans (for now), the show that is going away is As The World Turns.

The show has been on the air for 54 years. The last episode will air in September.

This is actually really depressing. Soap operas (daytime soap operas, not prime time shows like Melrose Place) are a great dramatic format and deserve a place on the television landscape.

Unfortunately, it looks like the networks are moving further and further away from them, looking for cheaper alternatives. It's weird to think about, but now the only soaps that are left are Y&R, The Bold and the Beautiful, All My Children, One Life To Live, and Day Of Our Lives. And I bet none of those are safe (especially the ones on CBS).

If you like 'Cops', you'll love 'Steven Seagal Lawman'

3 hours ago | | See recent news »

What could be better than Cops? How about Cops starring America's favorite straight-to-video martial artist, Steven Seagal? My colleague Ken Tucker recently weighed in on A&E's Steven Seagal Lawman when it debuted. And now that the second episode has aired (the third premieres Wednesday night at 10 p.m.), it's becoming clear that Seagal with a police badge and a taser is far more interesting than anything he's done since Under Siege. I'll admit that I had no clue that Seagal has been moonlighting from his Hollywood day job for the past 20 years as a deputy in Louisiana's Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office. »

First Look: 'Big Bang Theory' hooks up Sheldon and Leonard's mother!

6 hours ago | EW - Ausiello Files | See recent EW.com - The Ausiello Files news »

Hate to say "I told you so," but… Wait. No. I love to say "I told you so." And I did! I totally hinted at a future hook-up between Big Bang Theory brainiacs Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and Leonard's mother, Beverly (The Good Wife's Christine Baranski), and see? On Monday's episode, "The Maternal Congruence," it's happening. At least that's the conclusion I'm drawing from the (possibly misleading) exclusive image above. Oh, don't pretend you're as shocked as Penny (Kaley Cuoco) looks. You saw the sparks flying last time, too. Timing for the return of the thinking man's cougar couldn't be better, »

A lot of people are saying that Dollhouse is getting awesome now that it's been canceled, which is sad.  But isn't that Whedon's way?  Sometimes you gotta give the man some time to get into a grove, but once he does, it's glorious.

Fox has released promo photos for the two-hour episode that will be airing on December 11th, along with a short synopsis.  You can view both of them below.

The House Fears Alpha Has Returned On An All-new “Dollhouse

The Venture Bros.' James Urbaniak interviewed in a bathtub

1 hour ago | AOL - TVSquad | See recent AOL - TVSquad news »

Yes, you read that right. Someone took the time to sit down and penetrate the delightful, twisted mind of actor/writer James Urbaniak from The Venture Brothers... in a bathtub.

It was part of comedian Sara Benincasa's web chat series "Gettin' Wet" in which noted humorists and comedians sit down to have a probing and in-depth discussion of their pathos and the process of artistic achievement and creation... in a tub. If you haven't figured out yet that this actually takes place in a literal bathtub filled with soapy water, then no one can really help at this point.

Breaking: 'True Blood' promotes vampire Pam!

2 hours ago | EW - Ausiello Files | See recent EW.com - The Ausiello Files news »

If you (like me) have been thirsting for a stronger dose of vampire Pam on True Blood, you are in luck: Kristin Bauer will appear as a full-fledged series regular in season 3, an HBO rep confirms. Eric's lesbian (or is it bisexual?) sidekick had previously been billed as a TB guest star. Last season, she appeared in 11 of 13 episodes, per The Hollywood Reporter, which first broke the story. More Pam is definitely a good thing. Need convincing? Watch this. Photo Credit: John P. Johnson/HBO »

Ratings: Big Bang Theory Explodes to Series High

2 hours ago | TVGuide - Breaking News | See recent TVGuide - Breaking News news »

The Big Bang Theory was Monday's top-rated show, posting the biggest number of overall viewers in the series history.

Big Bang was watched by 14.7 million viewers, and dominated the competition in the adults-18-to-49 demographic. The show got a boost from a strong lead-in from Two and Half Men (15.2 million viewers), the night's most-watched show.

CBS' comedies benefited from holiday programming on other networks, as How I Met Your Mother (9.1 million viewers) and Accidentally on Purpose (8.3 million viewers) defeated ABC's Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town (8.4 million viewers) and Fox's Carrie Underwood Christmas special (8.1 million viewers over two hours)...
