Marilyn Manson and Evan Rachel Wood are engaged, a source confirms to People. The shock-rocker reportedly proposed to the True Blood actress while he was performing on stage in Paris on Monday, according to reports. Rumors have been swirling for days about the famously on-again, off-again couple's engagement. Reps for both Manson and Wood have remained mum on the subject. Manson, 41, began dating Wood, 22, in 2006 but the couple broke up in 2008. They briefly reconciled, then split again before getting back together. Last year, Manson revealed that he was so devastated over his breakup with Wood that he obsessed about the actress and called her incessantly. »

Director's Guild A Little Too 'Precious' In Their Choices
13 hours ago | | See recent news »
The Directors Guild of America have spoken and the Oscar experts have agreed. At least on four of the nominees. There was little doubt that the list would contain Kathryn Bigelow (The Hurt Locker), James Cameron (Avatar), Jason Reitman (Up In The Air) and Quentin Tarantino (Inglourious Basterds). And the DGA did not disappoint or throw in an 11th hour snub of these favorites. Who would be the fifth man or woman to make the list? Would it be the story of a man either serious or single? The education of a teenage girl from London or the inner city? Aliens from Africa or the Final Frontier? Or something about Nelson Mandela's obsession with Rugby? Well the results are in and your fifth DGA nominee is:
Lee Daniels (Precious: Based On The Novel Push By Sapphire)
Serves me right for changing my prediction from Daniels to Blomkamp at the last minute. »

• The Bachelor: Radar Online identified The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love contestant Rozlyn Papa as the scandalous bachelorette Chris Harrison told us about earlier this week, but now Papa's longtime agent says that while her client is the woman referred to in The Bachelor ads hyping a female contestant getting entangled in an "inappropriate relationship" with a crew member, Papa did not have a sexual relationship with anyone working behind the scenes on the show. "No. It's not accurate," says Stacie Vanchieri of Wilhelmina Models. "I represent Rozlyn. I have for the past eight years. There was not a sexual relationship with a crew member." No Jail Time for Hills Star Stephanie Pratt
12 hours ago | E! Online | See recent E! Online - Movies and Television news »
Pretty Hills hotties don't belong in jail. Good thing Stephanie Pratt isn't headed there, even with that whole "my heels made me do it" excuse. The MTV reality star reached a deal with the district attorney stemming from her Oct. 18 DUI arrest following sister-in-law Holly Montag's birthday bash at a Hollywood nightclub. To avoid donning an unflattering orange jumpsuit, she pleaded no contest to the reduced charge of exhibition of speeding and vowed to enroll in a three-month alcohol-treatment program and to spend eight weeks wearing those heels to Alcoholics Anonymous meetings. She'll also have to manage 36 months of probation. "I'm happy about the outcome," a »
Watch: Lil Wayne's video for 'On Fire'
1 hour ago | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »
When Lil Wayne’s rock-influenced album “Rebirth” will actually hit streets is anyone’s guess. A number of retailers are no longer offering the oft-delayed album as available on its scheduled Feb. 2 release date and word is it has been pushed to June. However, Lil Wayne’s rep told Billboard that the album’s still a go for Feb. 2. In the meantime, the video for album track, “On Fire” premiered on MTV today. The song is built around “She’s On Fire,” from the movie “Scarface,” a favorite among many rappers, and it sounds about as dated as the movie. In fact, it’s amazingly »
Ewan McGregor In For Knockout
1 hour ago | EmpireOnline | See recent EmpireOnline news »
Steven Soderbergh promised that his spy thriller Knockout would feature a killer name cast to support mixed martial arts star Gina Carano - and he wasn't kidding. Ewan McGregor, Dennis Quaid, Michael Douglas and Michael Fassbender have all joined the film. The rough plot for the globe-trotting blend of Bourne and beauty finds black ops super soldier Mallory Kane (Carano) betrayed by one of her own team, launching her on a hunt for revenge.According to The Playlist, Douglas will play a shady government figure (think Chris Cooper in the Bourne films), while Fassbender will be a member of her commando spy unit and a possible candidate (along with an as-yet-unnamed fellow thesp) for one of the soldiers who stabs Mallory in the back.McGregor, on the other hand, will be part of her post-trooper life, as the owner of a Blackwater-style private military company. He's apparently been on Soderbergh's »
Is NBC Close to Sealing a New Deal with Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien?
1 hour ago | E! Online | See recent E! Online - Movies and Television news »
If nothing else, this story is great fodder for the late-night monologues. Even as NBC was assuring Jay Leno that his current job was safe and sound, speculation began to run wild about the fate of Conan O'Brien and The Tonight Show. According to numerous reports, NBC is desperately trying to move Leno's show out of primetime and into O'Brien's timeslot—without causing the current The Tonight Show host to bolt to a different network. And where does the deal stand? The New York Times is reporting that a deal is essentially in place which would move Leno back to his old stomping grounds at 11:35 p.m. for a half-hour show. Doing this would push O'Brien's Tonight Show »
First Images Of Will Forte As MacGruber!
1 hour ago | EmpireOnline | See recent EmpireOnline news »
Mid last year, it was announced that Will Forte would bring his Saturday Night Live character MacGruber to the big screen for an all-action comedy romp. Some feared it would never work. We, however, were excited - and now, thanks to the team at Cinema Blend, there is pictorial proof that makes us giggle like eager children. The be-mulleted action hero - essentially a loving rip on '80s icon MacGyver - will expand on his usual misadventures (the show's skits always see him trapped in a room with a bomb, which explodes).Following the murder of his fiancee, the special ops expert has spent the last 10 years ignoring the call to action. But then his country tasks him with finding a stolen nuclear warhead. He's aided by an elite team of experts, including regular sidekick Vicki St Elmo (Kristen Wiig) and newcomer Lt Dixon Piper (Ryan Phillippe). But will »
James Cameron Options Hiroshima Book
2 hours ago | EmpireOnline | See recent EmpireOnline news »
Not content with savaging the locals' eco-home on Pandora in Avatar, James Cameron is also setting his sights on a real-life piece of devastating military action, optioning a nonfiction book about the attack on Hiroshima.Yes, in his second news story of the day, Cameron has bought up the rights to Charles Pellegrino's soon-to-be published tome The Last Train From Hiroshima: The Survivors Look Back. Pellegrino's title chronicles two days during an after the atomic bomb drops, using eyewitness accounts from Japanese civilians and American pilots who survived the experience. Cameron has yet to set the film up as a project, but he's already been doing some research - he took a day out of his Avatar promotional tour of Japan last month to visit Tsutomo Yamaguchi, who fled the destruction of the city for the relative safety of Nagasaki. And he managed to survive once more when that »
GI Joe Sequel Recruits Writers
2 hours ago | EmpireOnline | See recent EmpireOnline news »
It's a fair bet that few people (read: no one) walked out of the first G.I. Joe outing thinking, 'hhhm… that was a great screenplay!' But while the sequel is still developing, we're hopeful it might actually boast some better dialogue. Why? Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have been hired to script it.The pair, who've been busy cranking out ideas for a Zombieland follow-up already have one geek-bait project on their plates, since they're also signed to write Deadpool. But now they'll be getting the chance to make Duke, Snake Eyes and the rest sound A) funnier and B) less stupid. At least, that's the thinking. Given that the movie will be a tentpole action blockbuster and follow-up to a $300 million hit for Paramount, we're sure that other writers will also have their mucky paws on the script. Still, if something from the men who »
Avatar Is Second Biggest Movie Ever

James Cameron has managed to do what Sauron and his legion of orcs and Uruk-hai couldn't: defeat Gandalf and the hobbits. Yes, Avatar is now the second highest grossing film of all time. Why, it seems only yesterday that the sci-fi behemoth was toppling Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest (er, that's because it was). Thanks to another healthy day at the box office, Avatar rose to $37.4 million in the States and $760.9 million around the rest of the world, pushing its worldwide haul to $1.14 million, besting the $1.1 million that Peter Jackson managed between 2003 and 2004.And with limited competition at the Us box office this coming weekend, Cameron's latest looks set to enjoy another weekend at the top of the charts. It's still touch and go as to whether Avatar will get near Titanic's $1.842 billion, but we doubt Cameron's losing any sleep over it. Particularly as he'll be sleeping on $100 bills. »

Jay Leno jokes about cancellation rumors

It seems that Jay Leno heard all those cancellation rumors like everyone else this morning. So in tonight's opening bit of The Jay Leno Show (video embedded below), he makes a few jokes about the rumors, and suggests to Kevin Eubanks that they might have more time to travel -- "I hear Fox is beautiful this time of year," he quips. It now seems that NBC is considering a revamp of its late-night lineup to move Leno back to 11:35 for a half-hour show, pushing Conan O'Brien and Jimmy Fallon later. But Leno's jokes seem to hit pretty close to home about struggling NBC. »

Review: Youth in Revolt the Most Ceratastic Michael Cera Movie Ever! (Also, It's Funny)

Review in a Hurry: A floppy young man (Michael Cera) develops an alter ego (an unblinking Michael Cera) to win over a girl, in this flick that's surprisingly funny for something released in the usual bad-movie desert of January. The Bigger Picture: Another month, another coming-of-age comedy starring an actor from the Michael Cera School of Chinless Young Virgins. In this flick, the actor happens, actually, to be Michael Cera, and he's at his George Michael-y, Ceratastic best here. The virgin in this particular case in named Nick Twisp, and his virginity is the least of his problems. He has a lonely mom (Jean Smart) who dresses like she fell out of a 15-story flophouse, hitting various sales racks »

Jason Reitman not only put together a pie chart from his Up in the Air press tour of most frequent questions, but now he’s made a video of his endless global press tour that shows what a blur this whole thing must be.
