January Jones Plays Beer Pong with Jimmy Fallon
1 hour ago
We get a lot of video sent to us so we don’t always share them here at the site, mostly because in a majority of cases guests on Jimmy Fallon’s show don’t really “wow” us. But when one of our favorite stars from one of the best shows currently on TV does something awesome, we just feel compelled to bring it to you.
Case in point is last night’s appearance by the beautiful and talented January Jones (Mad Men). On the show she talked about the usual stuff as most talk show guests do. She also joined Jimmy in a little game of what we like to call beer pong and we’ve got video of that to share.
Any woman who’s as good looking as Ms. Jones, can play beer pong and comments when her beer isn’t full enough definitely deserves our respect, »

Three New Clips Form Tonight’s ‘Glee’
While most of the country got to watch the Yankees take home the World Series over the past two weeks, fans of the hit Fox show Glee had to sit and wait while their show was on hiatus. That wait ends tonight with the brand new episode, “Wheels”.
In tonight’s episode, the glee club is still on the road to the sectionals, and tonight the story is more about Artie (Kevin McHale). The rest of the group realizes how difficult it can be for Artie to have to keep up from the confines of a wheelchair, so Will (Matthew Morrison) decides to show everyone just how hard it can be.
Tonight’s episode features the songs “Dancing With Myself” by Billy Idol, “Defying Gravity” from the Broadway show Wicked and Ike and Tina Turner’s “Proud Mary”. Check out the clips after the jump, and be sure to catch “Wheels” tonight, »

Official ‘Kick-Ass’ Teaser Goes Live
A few months ago, there was a little gathering of pop culture fans that some call San Diego Comic-Con. There, movie studios bring projects that are upcoming to show off, and almost every time, one of the fans shoots the footage on their phone and later posts it on the internet. This has happened to some of the bigger projects of the past few years, from Spider-Man to Iron Man, and it even happened to Matthew Vaughn’s Kick-Ass.
For a while, that bootleg footage was all we had to go by, until now. Lionsgate Studios has been on the marketing warpath this week, with the release of the first Kick-Ass posters hitting the web a few days ago. We now have our hands on the first theatrical teaser for the film, which is even more to salivate over.
The film, which is based on the ongoing Marvel series written »

Gene Roddenberry To Be Inducted Into TV Academy Hall of Fame
7 hours ago
To be honest, I just assumed this was something that had already happened. For someone who created such an enduring TV and film legacy and such a phenomenon, I thought Gene Roddenberry was already in the TV Academy Hall of Fame. Apparently, I was wrong because at a special ceremony at the Beverly Hills Hotel next year, the “Great Bird of the Galaxy” himself will join the ranks of Academy Hall of Fame inductees.
Other inductees to be honored at the ceremony include Candice Bergen, production and art director Charles Lisanby, announcer Don Pardo, Tom and Dick Smothers and game show producer Bob Stewart. Seriously, and I apologize in advance for the rant I’m about to go on, the guy who created Star Trek and Don Pardo are getting the Hall of Fame treatment at the same time? Come on TV Academy, what the heck are you thinking?

First New ‘Clash of the Titans’ Trailer Hits The Web
8 hours ago
On what started off as a slow news week, we already have the premiere of two brand new trailers today, the first of which being a brand new trailer of Louis Leterrier’s remake of the 1981 classic, Clash of the Titans.
Though the original is considered sacred by some (and schlock by others), the newest trailer looks to legitimize the story even more. Conceptually, this is the proportionate size that this film should have been, and technology is finally at a place where a director like Leterrier can pull it off.
The film stars Sam Worthington, Gemma Aterton, and some of the coolest casting decisions for Greek gods ever seen. In no particular order, Liam Neeson is stepping in a Zeus, Ralph Fiennes is playing Hades, and Danny Huston (X-Men Origins: Wolverine) will be playing Poseidon.
Check out the first full trailer after the jump, and try not to hold »

Francis Lawrence Goes to War with ‘Sgt. Rock’
10 November 2009 3:30 PM, PST
Director Francis Lawrence, who’s previous credits include I Am Legend, Constantine and TV’s Kings has picked up another directing gig. He will take on the big screen adaptation of DC’s comic character Sgt. Rock for producers Joel Silver and Akiva Goldsman. The film, who’s previous director Guy Ritchie left to take on DC’s Lobo adaptation, will be scripted by relative newcomer Chad St. John.
Another change announced for this project is the shift from a WWII setting, where in the comics Sgt. Rock leads his “Easy Company” team of soldiers against the Nazis, to the future where, reportedly, the producers feel the film will be more universally accepted due to the comic’s current “pro-America” stance. Plus, the producers are worried about the relative box office success of a big budget WWII action film, Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds notwithstanding.
I guess both of those things make sense. »

Dave’s Weekly Comic Book Recommendations
10 November 2009 2:30 PM, PST
This week I am personally fired up for the new Marvel series S.W.O.R.D. #1 by new Thor writer Kieron Gillen and Steven Sanders. The last time I saw Sanders he did the Five Fists of Science with Matt Fraction that feels like it was a century ago. The series is a spinoff from Joss Whedon’s Astonishing X-Men where we follow Agent Brand, Beast and Lockheed through the cosmos.
Following that is the new Doctor Strange spinoff, Strange by Mark Waid and Emma Rios. Being a nut for all things Deadpool, the latest issue of Amazing Spider-Man guest stars the Merc with a Mouth. But that’s not really why I’m buying the issue, its ’cause the awesome Eric Canete draws the issue.
For Matt, this week we have a Doc Savage special guest starring Batman. Written by the brilliant Brian Azzarello and drawn by Phil Noto, »

Review: ‘Boondock Saints 2: All Saints Day’
10 November 2009 12:15 PM, PST
Not many people know this, but the first Boondock Saints film barely even happened. After a one week run in five theaters, the film was released on DVD… and embraced by a massive cult following. A sequel was always promised and showed up on IMDb years before production had even begun, but after a while, fans started to doubt that we’d ever even see another installment. Now, ten years later, Boondock Saints 2: All Saints Day happened, and thank the Lord it did.
All Saints Day picks up eight years after the McManus Brothers and their vigilante killing spree across Boston. They’ve fled to Ireland, along with their father, to find some peace and escape the insanity cause by their killings. But a copycat killer leaves their signature mark after murdering a priest and lure Connor and Murphy back to Boston to finish what they started eight years ago. »

Marvel Comics On Sale This Week
10 November 2009 11:15 AM, PST
Normally, this info comes to us on Monday and we get it out to you then. Unfortunately, we got it a bit late and had a full plate at the site yesterday, so we’re it to you today instead. You’ve still got plenty of time to figure out what comics you want to buy, so don’t worry.
Also, remember that Wednesday is a holiday so new comics will be most likely be coming out on Thursday this week. If so, be sure not to show up at your local comic store demanding new comics on Wednesday and then wondering why you’re not getting what you want. Plus, being demanding makes you seem like a douche, so probably best to avoid that anyway.
Anyway, here’s a list of all the new Marvel titles hitting stores this week. Of course, we’ve also got some cool preview »

DVD Review: ‘Natural Born Killers’ Unrated Director’s Cut
10 November 2009 10:00 AM, PST
Oliver’s Stone’s Natural Born Killers is a movie that, even with its political and social overtones, still stands the test of time. It’s a bravura tour de force motion picture that still pushes the limits of the form to this day. And now, a brand new Uncut Version and Director’s Cut has been released by Warner Home Video, which is sure to delight fans of this controversial motion picture.
An extremely violent satire of modern media that still asks questions 15 years later, the film is a brutal, bloody, surreal and stylized journey along with terrible twosome Mickey and Mallory Knox. Their tri-state killing spree brings questions of the media and its obsession with “celebrity” into focus. Even though this film was created before people like Paris Hilton, or whomever, could be considered a “celebrity” simply by virtue of being on the Internet or videotaping themselves having sex, »

‘Astonishing X-Men’ Motion Comic Episode 2 Preview
10 November 2009 9:00 AM, PST
As we’ve done previously, we’ve got a preview of the brand new Marvel motion comic Astonishing X-Men: Gifted. Featuring the talents of Joss Whedon and John Cassaday, this project offers fans a cool way to enjoy a great comic story on their favorite portable device like an iPhone or iPod Touch.
Even though I’m a fan of reading paper comics and I hope they don’t go away any time soon, this is just another way in which new fans can potentially be brought into the fold. Which is a good thing. Plus, with this kind of story and the talent involved, you have to expect this to be a pretty big success for Marvel. Hopefully, that will mean more comics will be getting the “motion” treatment.
So, check out this preview and enjoy it. Also, as we agreed to do in order to bring you cool things like this, »

First New Poster for Tim Burton’s ‘Alice in Wonderland’
10 November 2009 7:00 AM, PST
There is lots to be said about what we’ve seen from Tim Burton’s upcoming reimagining of Alice in Wonderland, and most of it is about Johnny Depp’s performance as the Mad Hatter. While that will be a definite selling point for the film, there are still many things that it has to offer, such as the distribution in Disney 3D and IMAX 3D.
The rest of the cast fills out quite nicely, with Anne Hatheway, Helena Bonham Carter (Burton’s wife), Crispin Glover, and Mia Wasikowska joining the cast. Expect this to be about as twisted as the way Lewis Carroll originally imagined it.
The film hits theaters in 3D and IMAX on March 5th, 2010, but you can check out the brand new poster that has hit the web, along with an invitation to join The Disloyal Subjects of the Mad Hatter on Facebook. From there, you »

Latest Trailer for ‘Tony Hawk: Ride’
9 November 2009 3:15 PM, PST
To me, riding a skateboard is up there with other sports like surfing. I’ve tried it but I am in no way ever going to be as good at it as someone like Tony Hawk. He has the tools, the talent and the drive to become one of the greatest skateboarders the world has ever known. He’s also become a pretty huge gaming mogul in his spare time with a whole slew of games bearing his name.
His latest, called Tony Hawk: Ride, is another in a series of what looks to be hugely successful games bearing the Hawk moniker. In this one, you actually ride the game controller version of a skateboard and try your best to shred like Mr. Hawk. The game also has a story to it as well and in this new trailer, graciously provided by our good friends at Activision, that part is showcased. »

First Trailer for Broken Lizard’s ‘The Slammin Salmon’
9 November 2009 2:15 PM, PST
The comedic team of Broken Lizard has made it’s way into the hearts of many moviegoers over the past 8 years since their wide release Super Troopers in 2001. Since then, they have had some hits, such as Beerfest, and some flops, such as Club Dread. After seeing this newest trailer for The Slammin’ Salmon, it may be safe to say that we’re looking at the troupe’s next hit.
The film is about a retired boxer-turned restaurant owner who is indebted to the mob and issues a contest to his staff to see who can make the most money in an evening. Of course, his staff is made up of the Broken Lizard regulars, and hilarity ensues from there.
The film stars the regular cast of characters, with Kevin Heffernan taking the director’s chair this time. Also joining in the fun time is Michael Clarke Duncan, Jim Gaffigan, »
