Music: When You Get 1000 Hugs from 10,000 Lightning Bugs....

I don't know if it's the 80s synth-pop stylings, the trippy, dreamy lyrics or the room full of awesomely geeky toys, but Fireflies, by Owl City, is my current music obsession.

I've bought it on iTunes, tricked it out as a ring-tone, and read whatever I could about the "group" -- in reality, it's just young hipster Adam Young -- all to satiate my desire for "more."

Memes are wacky.

Check out Fireflies, currently the top song in the USA, in the embed below.

News: Trek Creator becomes part of TV Hall of Greats

TrekMovie.com notes that Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry is being inducted into the TV Hall of Fame. Sponsored by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, the Hall of Fame honors those who have "....challenged and shaped popular culture, changed television for the better and entertained us royally by doing so," they said in a press release.

In regards to Roddenberry,

The legacy of two-time Primetime Emmy Award-nominee Gene Roddenberry continues to flourish as the “Star Trek” franchise he created has reached 10 theatrical movies, seven television series and numerous merchandising and ancillary businesses–all of which maintain the late producer’s vision of the future. Often affectionately referred to as the “Great Bird of the Galaxy,” Roddenberry led a life as colorful and exciting as almost any high adventure fiction. It wasn’t until 1966, when Roddenberry created and produced the original “Star Trek,” that he found his voice in Hollywood. »

The guys behind Star Wars Gangsta Rap and Star Wars Gangsta Rap: Special Edition are back once again. This time they've cut loose with some crazy mad dubs called  Star Wars Gangsta Rap: Chronicles.

I have no idea what any of this means.  I just post what I'm told to.

Real Science: Where I talk about a couple of Pricks

So I'm not usually one of the "real sciencey" types 'round these parts. I leave it to the uber-doorQs like The Dqm, Carlos and Phantom Planet to post all that brainy stuff. They like to expand their brain cells. I like to drown, cure, stoke or otherwise explode mine.

Be that as it may, I found both of these stories of interest. Probably because they involve pricks. Okay, definitely because they involve pricks. I love talking about pricks.

Story One involves the creation of artificial penis tissue. Scientists have been able to artificially grow the fun cells that create our wacky wongs -- at least in rabbits. They've grown rabbit willy tissue, implanted that tissue in artificial "scaffolds" so those cells will form the proper cockular shape, then implant that scaffold into those unfortunate rabbits who've damaged their wee-wittle-wees, and, voila, a new functional penis results.

Seriously. These cloned cocks »

Preview: Demoicsex... The Movie?

9 November 2009 12:55 PM, PST

So late last Saturday night, I got bored and went to browse the 4chan boards to troll and see what was going on in one of my favorite scum-of-the-internets communities (I know, this already sounds pretty darn scary, doesn't it?). The /b/ board was a little too chaotic for my tastes that night, so I decided to sneak in to the /y/ board and browse all the gay pr0nz to see if there was anything particularly interesting that Anon was posting.

Found a fun thread with Metal Gear yaoi comics and some naughty fan art, an okay thread with some fan translated bara (Too much pixelation for my taste =P) and finally a winner with some interesting content: a thread where Anon was posting scans and fan art from the Demonicsex comic series.

Now, this definitely isn't a comic you'd find on the shelves of your favorite comic book store. »

Previews: For your next RPG purchase....

9 November 2009 8:51 AM, PST

So now that Dragon Age: Origins is burning up my XBox, my thoughts turn to the next glorious RPG video game to occupy the fleeting moments of free time I have.

Killing demons, dragons, trolls and various darkspawn are all quite fun and interesting -- it's truly a wonderful thing to separate a demon from its head in a shower of CGI blood -- but the imagination is only best satiated when death, doom and destruction are rendered against evil aliens, soulless automatons and impertinent humans.

Which means, of course, that only Mass Effect 2 will do. BioWare has released some new gameplay vids from the upcoming RPG/shooter, featuring the improved gameplay from that of the first game, but still depicting the "thematic" discussion system that really does make you feel like you are living inside a movie.

ME2 drops on January 26th. Me. Wanty. Now!
