Our brothers and sisters over at TV Squad have busted through the boob tube and brought with them the following juicy bits of must-see eye candy.

Is it possible that Oprah Winfrey's long-running talk show may be coming to an end? Find out right here. I realize he's done some acting but I'm still scratching my head at the notion of Jon Bon Jovi appearing on the season premier of Inside the Actor's Studio. FX is taking a stab at the western genre with Reconstruction. Here's a sneak peak at the CGI Dr. Who adventure (featuring David Tennant) that will be airing on the BBC later this year. Turner Classic Movies will be hosting a classic film festival at three Hollywood locations. ...and finally our wait is over, America, Judge Wapner will be returning to The People's Court, at least for a day.

Is Dan Aykroyd Joining the Cast of Burke and Hare ?

6 November 2009 | shocktillyoudrop.com | See recent shocktillyoudrop news »

The horror-comedy Burke and Hare , directed by John Landis, may have a new addition to the cast: Dan Aykroyd. Ealing Studios, represented at the American Film Market, broke the news this week. However, they stress Aykroyd's involvement is "subject to contract." If Aykroyd becomes locked, he'll join Simon Pegg, David Tennant and Bill Nighy (incredible line-up, if we do say so). Written by Piers Ashworth and Nick Moorcroft, William Burke and William Hare is based on a true story and follows two 19th-century grave robbers who find a lucrative business providing dead bodies for an Edinburgh medical school. Shooting is expected to begin in January. »

Dan Aykroyd Back With Landis For Burke and Hare

5 November 2009 12:33 PM, PST | cinemablend.com | See recent Cinema Blend news »

When I first read that John Landis was finally coming back with a feature film after an 11 year absence, my roommate was concerned that I was having an epileptic episode. What's more, the film would bring the director back to his roots as a master of comedic horror (An American Werewolf in London has aged incredibly well) and would star one of my favorite current comedic actors in Simon Pegg. To coincide with the comeback, Bloody Disgusting is reporting that Landis is bringing back one of his favorite actors as well. Dan Aykroyd, who starred in seven of Landis' previous movies, has been cast in Burke and Hare, the story of two British graverobbers/murderers who sold the bodies of their victims to a local medical school for profit. Pegg and David Tennant play the titular characters, and Bill Nighy has also been cast. It is not yet known what »

Aykroyd with Landis

Okay, so it's not news on a Ghostbusters reunion, but it's still pretty cool. Dan Aykroyd will join Simon Pegg and David Tennant in the upcoming Burke & Hare, which is being directed by John Landis. Aykroyd's role is not known as of yet. Oh, and Bill Nighy has been cast as well. I guess that bit of information flew under the radar. This is really starting to shape up to be something to look forward too. Given, the project had me at the team up of Pegg and Tennant, but now I'm really... »

A clip from the new Doctor Who CGI

5 November 2009 5:30 AM, PST | AOL - TVSquad | See recent AOL - TVSquad news »

Someone on YouTube has smuggled a clip of the new Doctor Who CGI adventure that the BBC will be airing later this year titled "Dreamland". It's still the David Tennant version of the Doctor, so he gets one more go as the character before he becomes Rex.

And it looks... well, frankly, not that good. Oh, the story is great, I'm sure, and Tennant is as spot on as the Doctor as he ever was. It's the CGI. It looks primitive by today's standards. Topless Robot wrote the the style of the clip reminds them of the Reboot CGI cartoon from the 90's, and I have to agree. I recognize the BBC isn't Pixar, and I'm all for Doctor Who in other non-filmed forms, whether it's CGI, primitive animation or just plain old audio adventures. But if it's done, I'd rather it be done better than this.

However, I leave »

Fun for Wednesdays! We look at an image from an upcoming movie -- or now, TV! -- and write snarky, witty, or otherwise entertaining captions for it. No prizes, it’s just for fun. News: Is this an American David Tennant I see before me?

4 November 2009 6:12 AM, PST | doorQ.com | See recent doorQ.com news »

Blogging while sick is always a dicey affair. You are just never quite sure if what you are reading is true or if it is merely the delusional imaginings of a fevered mind. Such is the case when I read that David Tennant, late of Doctor Who fame, is heading to American TV as the lead in a new pilot for NBC called Rex Is Not Your Lawyer.

Hurling the pile of used tissues aside, I clicked further, discovering that, yes indeed, Tennant is set to take the lead as an American lawyer who suffers from panic attacks. It's one of those hour-long dramedys, in the Boston Legal vein, so expect the occasional dancing baby and song and dance routine.

Or maybe I'm just seeing that. Theraflu does that, you know.

David Tennant gets a pilot: If anyone can save NBC, it's The Doctor, right?

4 November 2009 6:00 AM, PST | EW.com - PopWatch | See recent EW.com - PopWatch news »

Anyone who's had the pleasure of seeing David Tennant as the titular Doctor Who -- from seasons 2-4 of the BBC's most recent incarnation of the classic British show -- knows the man can do anything: Free the Ood, make Billie Piper swoon, foil the Daleks' plans to pretty much destroy the universe. But now the dishy Scotsman is taking on an even more daunting task by shooting a pilot, Rex Is Not Your Lawyer, for (dun dun dunnnn) NBC. Seriously, with not-so-hot ratings for its "all-Leno, all-the-frakkin-time" strategy, the peacock sometimes looks like it's halfway across the rainbow bridge »

Rex Is Not Your Lawyer, but he is the Doctor, David Tennant

3 November 2009 10:04 AM, PST | AOL - TVSquad | See recent AOL - TVSquad news »

I consider this a huge coup for NBC. After traveling through time and space in the Tardis the past several years, it looks like Doctor Who's David Tennant is heading stateside to take the lead in Rex is Not Your Lawyer. Tennant will star as Rex, a top Chicago litigator who becomes so crippled by anxiety that he takes to coaching his clients into representing themselves.

The idea is completely madcap, but I think Tennant has just the right kind of wacky tenacity and cavalier bravado to pull off the role. In fact, it was apparently difficulty in casting the role that delayed the project until Tennant bounced in and nailed it.

It'll be interesting to see what they do about his accent. Tennant is Scottish, but adopted an "Estuary English" accent for his role as the Doctor. I think the Doctor's accent would work tremendously with the comedic role described here, »

Ian McKellen Has Read The Hobbit Script

3 November 2009 9:18 AM, PST | ScreenRant.com | See recent Screen Rant news »

Of all those involved in the upcoming adaptation of The Hobbit, Ian McKellen seems to be the most vocal. The last time he “spilled the beans” about the pre-Lord of the Rings adventure (along with him talking a little bit about the standalone Magneto movie),  McKellen talked about when we could expect the script, which, he stated, would be “very soon.”

That was last month – fast forward a few weeks and it appears The Hobbit script has surfaced (or at least a draft of it) and lucky Sir McKellen has apparently had a read of it. However, it’s early days yet for the film (Part 1 doesn’t come out until the end of 2011), and sadly but not surprisingly, McKellen is staying tight-lipped about what’s in the script. Here’s what he told SciFiWire about it during an interview last week promoting AMC’s The Prisoner:
