Behind The Scenes Video Juice On Iron Man 2

25 September 2009 3:56 AM, PDT | SciFiCool.com | See recent SciFiCool.com news »

Iron Man 2 was a pretty locked up set with very little leakage. We got Iron Man sitting in a donut. That was cool, but ultimately unsatisfying. We in the Sci-Fi community need more and especially more of Scarlet Johansson as the Black Widow. E.T. recently was granted access to the filming before it was all a wrap and they’ve got a cool video here showing plenty of interviews and footage of nifty explosions, car slicing and other behind the scenes mayhem. Iron Man 2 stars Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Favreau, Mickey Rourke, Sam Rockwell, Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, Garry Shandling, John Slattery, Kate Mara, Clark Gregg and Olivia Munn and was directed by Jon Favreau. Iron Man 2 will be out and about on May 7th. Thanks ComingSoon. »

However, there are a few new shots that are worth checking out like Scarlett Johansson and Robert Downey Jr. in Tony Stark’s home and Mickey Rourke as Whiplash attacking Tony Stark’s car at the racetrack. But the set visit is mostly the cast talking about how they got ready for the film and what’s new in the sequel. Watch the video after the jump:

Stars that look alike

8 September 2009 6:49 AM, PDT | JoBlo.com | See recent JoBlo news »

Working in this industry, it’s a cardinal sin to mix up actors and actresses with each other. Thankfully I don’t usually do that anymore (damn you kid from Narnia and kid from The Reader), but a ways a back I was convinced that Kate Mara, Amy Adams and Isla Fisher were all the same person. There couldn’t be three famous redheaded actresses right? Well, as it turns out, some stars look more like each other than others, sometimes to the point where it’s... »

The Open Road – Trailer, One Sheet, And Stills

10 August 2009 8:53 PM, PDT | AreYouScreening.com | See recent AreYouScreening news »

The very odd duo of Jeff Bridges and Justin Timberlake are coming to theaters August 28th in The Open Road, and I am not at all sure what to make of this road trip picture. The movie gives us Timberlake as a minor league baseball player who takes a road trip to see his estranged father (Bridges), who is a baseball legend. He makes the trip because his mother is sick, and when dear old dad surprisingly agrees to come see her, resulting in a second road trip, hilarity (or suchlike) ensues. The film also stars Kate Mara, Harry Dean Stanton, Lyle Lovett and Mary Steenburgen. I don't know that the world needs another road trip movie, without some serious justification, but this looks like just the sort of oddball character I have been known to like Bridges in. I'm not sure what to make of this one at this point. »

I'm not sure how it's possible but a sports flick starring Jeff Bridges, Justin Timberlake and my not-so-secret love Kate Mara has snuck up on me. The movie, The Open Road, opens in theaters later this month and I just started hearing word about it in mid-July. The film stars Timberlake as a minor league baseball player struggling to make it in the shadow of his Hall of Fame father (Bridges). When his mother falls ill, he must return home with his now-estranged father. But in spite of all... »

Worth Watching - Aug 9: Jeff Bridges in The Open Road Trailer

9 August 2009 1:54 PM, PDT | firstshowing.net | See recent FirstShowing.net news »

Now this is an interesting little indie film. The Open Road stars Justin Timberlake, Jeff Bridges, and Kate Mara. Never heard of it? Neither had I until a few months back when it was finally picked up for distribution by Anchor Bay Films. MSN debuted the trailer for this recently and I guess I'd say it doesn't look bad, but I don't know what to make of it. Anytime and indie like this doesn't make it into any film festivals at all, that's probably a sure sign that it's really not that good. But I'll let you be the judge of that, as there's a lot to like about this trailer in an entertainment sense. And of course, it's Jeff Bridges, there's no way I can't love him! Rate-a-Trailer: Justin Timberlake's The Open Road

9 August 2009 8:47 AM, PDT | E! Online | See recent E! Online news »

On first blush, this looks like Jeff Bridges gets his grumpy-dad schtick going on and Justin Timberlake plays the petulant post-teen son, while glowing girlfriend Kate Mara is along for the ride as a bonding agent for the estranged father-son pair... Wait, we're watching already, if only to see whether this will become The Big Lebowski 2: Geriatric Dude. And J.T.'s acting doesn't look terrible, so we're almost sold already. But what say you? Is Timberlake's acting real or fake? Give us your two cents in the comments and let us know whether you'll be buying a ticket when the flick opens Aug. 28. »

'The Open Road' Trailer Drives Some Melodrama

5 August 2009 5:15 PM, PDT | Cinematical | See recent Cinematical news »

Just the other day, we debuted the sour-faced poster for The Open Road -- a road trip movie starring Justin Timberlake, Jeff Bridges, Kate Mara, and Mary Steenburgen. On the heels of that release, MSN has nabbed the official trailer, which is full of difficult dads and aggravated offspring, but not as many laughs as the poster would hint. The film follows a son who, on the request of his dying mother, reunites with his estranged father, a minor-league baseball player, to bring the family back together.

I wasn't sure what to expect from the film. It's written and directed by Michael Meredith, the man who wrote Wim Wenders' Land of Plenty -- a quite somber film starring Michelle Williams as a missionary returns to La from Palestine and gets wrapped up with a post 9/11 conspiracy nut and the murder of a homeless Muslim man. But this project isn't very political, »

Justin Timberlake-Starring 'The Open Road' Gets Trailer

The first trailer for Anchor Bay Entertainment's "The Open Road" has been released. Debuted via MSN, the sneak peek into the upcoming drama comedy features the dynamics of the two leading men, Jeff Bridges and Justin Timberlake, who take the role of the estranged father and son respectively. It also presents glimpses of the trip they take.

The movie written and directed by Michael Meredith centers on a baseball legend Kyle Garrett and his estranged son Carlton Garrett. After years spending time apart from one another, Carlton played by Timberlake goes to see his father Kyle, portrayed by Bridges. Accompanied by his girlfriend Lucy (Kate Mara), he tries to bring Kyle back to help support his sick mother, which led the three to be stuck in a road trip.

Trailer - Timberlake, Bridges Hit 'The Open Road'

4 August 2009 10:59 AM, PDT | GetTheBigPicture.net | See recent Get The Big Picture news »

There are two things about the trailer for The Open Road that stood out to me. The first is the tagline, which considering what appears to be a pretty standard story and a fairly inexpensive trailer, is surprisingly clever. Not saying it's great, just clever. I won't give that away, though. The other thing that stands out, as he often does, is Jeff Bridges.

Bridges has never taken the easiest path. He could have been a much bigger star in his 80s and 90s heyday, but he preferred more substantial, original roles like Starman, Fearless, and The Fisher King. He has four Oscar nominations but it should really be six or seven. He stands out to me here for another reason, though: what can a really good leading man do when the material probably isn't terribly unique? Does he wilt or does he find that there's a lot more room to explore the character? »

Exclusive: 'The Open Road' Poster Premiere

Cinematical has just received this exclusive poster for the film The Open Road, starring Justin Timberlake and Jeff Bridges. The film follows a minor league baseball player (Timberlake) who, along with his girlfriend (Kate Mara), travel to reunite with his estranged father (Bridges) and bring his family back together to help support his sick mother (Mary Steenburgen). Lyle Lovett and Harry Dean Stanton also star.

Written and directed by Michael Meredith, we first reported on this dramedy wayyy back in 2007, and again in 2008 when Timberlake and Bridges signed on. It's hard to argue against this cast -- Bridges always brings his quirky A-game, and Timberlake, in my opinion, is only a year or so away from really landing some big roles. But it's these smaller flicks that will convince people of Timberlake's on-screen talent; the ones that strip away his celebrity and expose a little more substance. Definitely seems like »

In between tapings of the hit CBS sitcom “How I Met Your Mother,” actor Josh Radnor managed to find time to write an engaging script titled HappyThankYouMorePlease about New Yorkers coming of age in the big city.  His first outing as a screenwriter landed on the 2007’s “Black List,” an industry insider poll of the best unproduced scripts in Hollywood.

The honor also inspired his first directorial effort.  According to Variety, Radnor recently wrapped photography on the film during the series hiatus with plans to edit the feature during the show’s production.

Radnor stars as Sam, a struggling novelist but a charming ladies man.  Sam readies himself for a publisher pitch to the live, encouraging answering machine message of his best friend Annie.  He hurries out the door and continues the conversation by cell as he winds through the thriving city.
