Having his character killed in the season 4 of sci-fi thriller "Lost" opens up another television role for Grant Bowler. According to Ew's The Ausiello Files, the Australian television star has been signed up to portray the chief financial officer of Meade Publications on "Ugly Betty" .
It is said that this recurring role whose name is yet to be uncovered will be the man all the women are falling for. "He's running the business part of the magazine," the series executive producer Silvio Horta revealed. "He's hot and cool and all the women are in love with him."
Aside from having Bowler on the cast, season three of "Ugly Betty" is promised to see once again Hollywood starlet Lindsay Lohan as Kimberly, Betty's former high school classmate. This time, it will be revealed that Kimmie is the manager at the fast-food restaurant where Betty's father works. Season three will be premiered on Thursday,

While some fans may be disappointed at the effects of the production of Ugly Betty moving to New York to film the series, the producers are giving them a treat to lighten up the mood. Now that the production has settled in comfortably into the new city, the show has been welcoming a list of new guest stars to appear in the upcoming season of Ugly Betty. In fact, fans will get a glimpse of two morning TV hosts who will grace the set of the series very soon.
ABC has announced that Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa will be appearing in the third season of Ugly Betty, where they will play themselves, and have a couple of Meades as their guests.

Stars of hit TV shows Ugly Betty, Without A Trace and Wizards Of Waverly Place are leading the nominations for the 2008 American Latino Media Arts (Alma) Awards with three nods each.
The cast of Ugly Betty is to be honoured with the Outstanding Performance of a Latino/Latina-Led Ensemble in a Television Series special achievement prize, while writer Silvio Horta is nominated in the Outstanding Writing for a Television Series category for the episode entitled Jump. Director Linda Mendoza is also up for contention in the Outstanding Director of a Television Series gong, for her work on the Betty's Baby Bump segment.
Without A Trace star Enrique Murciano is up for Outstanding Actor in a Drama Television Series, and his co-star Roselyn Sanchez is nominated in the female equivalent. Scriptwriter Jose Molina has been recognised in the Outstanding Writing for a Television Series for the Without You episode.
Meanwhile, the stars of Disney show Wizards of Waverly Place have also scored nominations - Jake T. Austin and co-stars Selena Gomez and Maria Canals-Barrera will fight it out in the male and female categories for Outstanding Performance in a Comedy Television Series.
Other nominees include Desperate Housewives actor Ricardo Chavira and Lost's Jorge Garcia for Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Drama Television Series; Grey's Anatomy's star Sara Ramirez for Outstanding Actress In A Drama Television Series; and Two and A Half Men's Charlie Sheen for Outstanding Male Performance In A Comedy Television Series.
The nominations were announced on Monday and the winners will be unveiled at a ceremony hosted by Eva Longoria Parker on 17 August. The show will air on U.S. TV on 12 September.

With the recently concluded second season of Ugly Betty, fans can’t help but think what’s in store next season. Silvio Horta has already told us that he’ll be refocusing the show to revolve around Betty and Betty alone, and this may mean bad things for some of the characters who might get chopped off. We recently heard about Rebecca Romijn’s role on the show as being tagged as recurring instead of regular, and fans did get a little bit worried.
Now that the show is on hiatus in preparation for its third season, two of Ugly Betty’s cast members spoke up about other possible Ugly Betty ventures, and what’s to come in the third season of the show.
Recently, Michael Urie, who plays the flamboyant Marc St. James, spoke to Britain’s Heart Fm and talked about the possibility of a Broadway rendition of the highly successful dramedy.

Tonight on Ugly Betty, we’ll get to see the last episode before next week’s season finale, which the cast and crew have already promised to be one explosive episode. Episode 2.17, entitled “The Kids Are Alright,” will air tonight at 8pm, and will bring us back one very familiar face into the picture. After months of rumors and talks about former child star/tween idol turned drug and alcohol dependent Lindsay Lohan being a guest star on Ugly Betty, the deal was finally done and the 21-year-old actress began shooting her episodes. Word has it that the young actress, who is struggling to get her career back on track, is enjoying her stay on the Ugly Betty set. Moreover, series creator Silvio Horta says that it was fun working with such a great actress.
“Lindsay was terrific - a real pleasure,” Silvio Horta told Stuff. “She came in early and was very pleasant.”
As for Lohan’s character, it seems that she’ll need her Mean Girls experience to back her up, since she will be playing something close to her character in the 2004 film.

Lindsay Lohan will play a former high school bully during her forthcoming stint in TV show Ugly Betty.
The actress has signed up for six episodes of the hit U.S. programme in a bid to kickstart her struggling Hollywood career.
She will play Kimberley, the high school nemesis of America Ferrera's title character Betty.
Creator Silvio Horta tells Usmagazine.com, "Kimberley and Betty are going to run into each other. Kimberley's life has taken a turn for the worse. It doesn't turn out well for Betty."
And he insists Lohan's reputation as a troublesome and tardy star is unfounded: "She was terrific, a pleasure. She came in early and was very pleasant."
Lohan's first episode will be the season finale, aired in the U.S. on 22 May.
