I love Bones' Christmas episodes, because they're always so cute and sweet and usually funny. And they warm my little Scrouge heart with the joy of the holiday season. Fox has released photos and a synopsis of the December 10th episodes of Bones (it will then be on holiday hiatus until January 14th).  The Christmas episode marks the return of Ryan ONeal as Brennan's father and the appearance of Zooey Deschanel (Emily Deschanel's sister).

Also, check out the photos, promo and behind-the-scenes photos from the December 3rd episode.

"Kaleidoscope" aired on Thanksgiving, so in case you missed it here are the videos of "American Idol" runners-up Katharine McPhee and David Archuleta performing.

"Kaleidoscope" brought together singers, figure skaters and cancer survivors to celebrate beating cancer and raise awareness of the fight against cancer.

McPhee and Archuleta were just two of the many performers. Below we have video of both McPhee's "I'll Be Home for Christmas" and Archuleta's "Silent Night." Plus an extra added bonus video.

Speaking of cancer, Katharine McPhee also recently took part in a public service announcement about breast cancer and performing monthly self-examinations. Have you always wanted to see Katharine, Minka Kelly, Alyson Hannigan, Jamie King and Emily Deschanel grope each other? Look no further!

Christmas will come early for Bones fans this year.

On December 10, Booth and Brennan investigate the case of a man in a Santa Claus costume that was blown up trying to rob a bank.

But that's not the exciting news: Brennan's father (Ryan O'Neil) asks Brennan's cousin, Margaret, to spend the holiday with him and his daughter. Margaret is played by none other than Zooey Deschanel!

It's a guest-starring role Bones fans have been hoping for since real-life sister Emily Deschanel was cast in the lead role of Bones. Below, get an early look at Zooey on the series:

Fox has released 8 video featurettes with the cast of Bones.  They discuss the Christmas episode which is set to air on December 10th and the cast reminisces about their own past Christmases.  Bones always does cute Christmas episodes, so I'm looking forward to this one.

The December 10th episode also happens to feature Zooey Deschanel, Bones' real-life sister, who will be playing her cousin.  We don't yet have an official synopsis for the episode, but Fox released a short press release about Zooey and the return of Ryan O'Neal (Bones' father):

Photos – Behind the Scenes of Bones 5.09 "The Gamer in the Grease"

22 November 2009 2:47 PM, PST | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

EW passed out some cameras to the Bones cast and crew and got 16 behind-the-scenes of the December 3rd episode of Bones (5.09 "The Gamer in the Grease").  You can view a promo and photos for the episode and also check out the EW photos below (make sure to read the captions!)

We gave David Boreanaz, Emily Deschanel, and Co. some cameras and told them to go crazy.

The result? A funny, twisted look at filming the Dec. 3 episode, which was inspired by the doc "The King of Kong," and the Dec. 10 hour, which involves a bomb-wielding Santa. ''David loves to flash his badge,'' says Deschanel, who caught him in the act as ''Uncle Hershey'' drove them to set. Uncle Hershey has been with Boreanaz for roughly a decade. ''He's my main guy,'' Boreanaz says. ''He's Uncle Hershey!''

A few days ago I posted promo photos for the December 3rd episode of Bones (next week will be pre-empted) and now we have a promo video for you.  It's a gamer-centric episode (and an Avatar-centric episode in a brilliant cross-promotion move by Fox because they really want to recoup the $300 million they spent on making the James Cameron picture).

DVD Of "My Sister's Keeper" Reveals Extra Dramatic Footage

18 November 2009 9:52 PM, PST | icelebz.com | See recent iCelebz news »

"My Sister's Keeper" is currently available on DVD and Blu-ray Hi-Def.

The family drama, available from Warner Home Video, was released on November 17. Based on the best-selling novel by Jodi Picoult, it follows the story of a family struck by tragedy in a story that Joe Morgenstern of The Wall Street Journal refers to as ".heartfelt and deeply affecting."

The movie tells the tale of the Fitzgerald family, whose lives revolve around oldest daughter Kate (Sofia Vassilieva), who has had leukemia since the age of 2. Though mother Sara (Cameron Diaz) and father Brian (Jason Patric) have run themselves ragged keeping the family afloat despite mounting medical bills and a juvenile delinquency streak in their neglected oldest son Jesse (Evan Ellingson), the most put-upon member of the household is youngest child Anna (Abigail Breslin), who was purposely conceived to be a donor of bodily materials for her sister. But when Kate needs a kidney transplant, »

Oh my God, how much do I love Bones? Answer: A Lot.  If you've been watching trailers for Avatar, you will have noticed Joel David Moore, who has played intern Colin Fisher on several episodes of Bones.  Well, Moore is back and there's a big cross-promotion going on as Sweets and Fisher take turns camping out for tickets to the opening on AvatarBones And Avatar in one episode?  It's like Nutella and peanut butter together on toast (try it, it's yummy).  It's also funny and awesome.

Fox has released promo photos and a synopsis for the December 3rd episode and you can check them out below.  Also, take a peek at the promo photos for the November 19th episode, where Booth's grandfather makes an appearance.  Then it's a week's break until the December 3rd episode.

CinemaSpy's Week-End TV Recap (Nov. 14)

14 November 2009 9:10 PM, PST | CinemaSpy | See recent CinemaSpy news »

The big television news for the week preceding, was, of course, Fox's decision to cancel Dollhouse, a move not necessarily unexpected, but still lamented by fans of the show. Sadly, the writing had been on the wall from the beginning of the season—without a significant uptick in viewership, the series' life-expectancy would be short. It didn't happen...and it was. Dollhouse will return Dec. 4, with its series finale set for Jan. 22.

Fox's other genre series, Fringe, rebounded a bit to its pre-World Series numbers with a 3.7 rating/6 share. That equates to a 19 percent jump from the previous week, but still trails behind The CW, where the network's flagship skein, Smallville, finally regained some ground to tie its former Thursday night stablemate, Supernatural.

Over at ABC, V led all genre shows for the second week of sweeps, despite a more than 25 percent drop from its series premiere, earning a 6.6 rating/10 share, »

DVD Playhouse—November 2009

By

Allen Gardner

Watchmen—The Ultimate Cut (Warner Bros.) Director Zack Snyder’s film of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’ landmark graphic novel is as worthy an adaptation of a great book that has ever been filmed. In an alternative version of the year 1985, Richard Nixon is serving his third term as President and super heroes have been outlawed by a congressional act, in spite of the fact that two of the most high-profile “masks,” Dr. Manhattan (Billy Cruddup) and The Comedian (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) helped the U.S. win the Vietnam War. When The Comedian is found murdered, many former heroes become concerned that a conspiracy is afoot to assassinate retired costumed crime fighters. Former masks Nite Owl (Patrick Wilson), Silk Spectre (Malin Akerman) and still-operating Rorschach (Jackie Earle Haley, in an Oscar-worthy turn) launch an investigation of their own, all while the Pentagon’s “Doomsday »

'Bones' cast takes us behind the scenes (and the belt buckle)

Yes, it's November Sweeps, but we're already looking ahead to December episodes of Fox's Bones. The cast took photos for EW as they filmed the Dec. 3 hour, inspired by the gamer documentary The King of Kong, and Dec. 10's Christmas story, which David Boreanaz accurately describes as "a little sick." (A man dressed as Santa is blown up after a botched bank robbery. Note: This is also the episode that Emily Deschanel's sister Zooey guest stars as a distant relative of Brennan's invited to spend the holidays with Bones and her father. Welcome back, Ryan O'Neal.) There’s no way I’m going to get this right. We never say precisely what we ought to when we part, the words are never perfect enough — not even for those of us who get paid to write them…or used to, anyway. I’m sorry to say that this is the last time we’ll walk the Beat together as I'm leaving EW. So I’ll tell you what, Coppers, let’s save the hugs for the end, stuff down the tears (I grant that they’re probably all mine), and take a stroll. I’m ready if you are. »
