Bradley Cooper Heads to Dark Fields

5 November 2009 7:09 PM, PST | movies.about.com | See recent movies.about.com news »

Bradley Cooper continues to be one of the busiest actors in Hollywood. The 34 year old actor's been working fairly steadily since 2001, but this summer's runaway hit, The Hangover, catapulted him into 'in-demand' status. Now The Hollywood Reporter says Cooper's signed on to yet another project: Dark Fields.

Set up at Relativity Media, Dark Fields is based on the book of the same name by Alan Glynn and tells the story of a struggling writer who gets involved with a new smart drug that produces deadly side effects. Leslie Dixon will be adapting the screenplay. Neil Burger (The Illusionist) is directing.

Cooper will next be seen in the romantic comedy Valentine's Day with Julia Roberts, Taylor Lautner, and Jessica Biel. He's currently at work on the big screen version of the classic TV show, The A-Team.

Tracy Morgan & Spike Lee Team Up For Comedy Concert Film To Be Released in Theaters!

5 November 2009 2:47 AM, PST | The Humor Mill | See recent The Humor Mill news »

After a very long drought of comedy concert films being released in theaters, today we discovered-and confirmed via his twitter account- that comedian and actor Tracy Morgan will be filming a concert film with Director Spike Lee at Carnegie Hall this Friday.

Surprisingly, this news came to us rather quickly; especially after we discovered the news and reported yesterday that comedian DeRay Davis will be filming his concert comedy film sometime next month with Director John Singleton.

Anyway, it seems that GQ Magazine reported this last month and that news about Morgan’s performance has flown under the radar nationally as he has prepared for the film and is currently on a book tour. We hear that Morgan was extremely brief about his plans for Friday but is very excited about this upcoming performance.

Morgan, currently on NBC’s 30 Rock has written a book titled, "I Am The New Black »

Jessica Biel Mia as Justin Timberlake Accepts Award

4 November 2009 9:30 PM, PST | E! Online | See recent E! Online news »

Justin Timberlake went solo to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center's Board of Governors gala—but that doesn't mean Jessica Biel didn't get a shout-out. Just not by Timberlake. Andy Garcia, while presenting an award to the pop star, made sure to comment about J.T.'s "beautiful lady" who introduced herself as "Jess" to him. We wonder if Garcia's heard that there may be trouble in paradise. In any case, Timberlake himself made no mention of Biel during his acceptance speech for the Heart of Hollywood award... "I got to find out that Hollywood actually does have a heart," joked Justin, who even managed to slip in a reference to his... »

Monthly Movie Preview – November 2009 … A Christmas Carol, 2012, The Twilight Saga: New Moon and more

3 November 2009 5:34 AM, PST | The Scorecard Review | See recent Scorecard Review news »

It’s the holidays. We know this because the movies tell us so. This year they waited exactly one week after Halloween to start the Christmas fare with Jim Carrey’s A Christmas Carol. But even though the month starts with Christmas, the movie month plays out just like Thanksgiving.

At first, we’re given an array of wonderful treats that’s we’ll happily gobble up like George Clooney in The Men Who Stare at Goats or George Clooney in the stop-motion Wes Anderson movie Fantastic Mr. Fox. Plus, teenage girls and a few others, will have their vampire appetites filled with The Twilight Saga: New Moon. But then, just like Thanksgiving, you gorge a little too much. And even though you’re full, you look around for something more to eat … and that’s when Old Dogs seems to be your only option.

Will Tobe Hooper Return For The Next Texas Chainsaw Remake?

2 November 2009 9:23 AM, PST | Beyond Hollywood | See recent Beyond Hollywood news »

Unpopular opinion of the day: Tobe Hooper’s 1974 horror flick “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre” is not a good film. Sure, it broke new ground in terms of intensity and introduced a lot of people to the extremes of hardcore horror, but it’s far from entertaining. The characters are nerve-shredding idiots, the villains are head-splitting irritants, and the direction is spotty at best. In fact, I’d say Marcus Nispel’s version of the material is far more effective despite the questionable presence of Jessica Biel. Feel free to build a wooden cross in your parents’ musty basement and nail me to if you feel the need, but, deep down, you know I’m right. According to the folks at Slashfilm, Tobe Hooper is in talks with Twisted Pictures to direct a “contemporary” version of “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre,” though what that specifically entails is anybody’s guess. In case you’re a little behind, »

The film is a raunchy comedy about a couple who make a pact to have sex every day leading to their wedding so they don't turn into their parents. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Glen Basner and Aaron Ryder of FilmNation Entertainment are financing and producing. Brownell developed the script with producers Dan Halsted ("Garden State") and Cameron Bunce, who got Biel and her Iron Ocean Films producing partner Michelle Purple interested. Moon Bloodgood's Topless 'Terminator: Salvation' Scene: Worth the 'R' Rating?

30 October 2009 10:02 AM, PDT | Cinematical | See recent Cinematical news »

What's happened to all the great movie nudity lately? Billy Crudup started the year off with a bang, so to speak, with his big blue penis in Watchmen, and Marcus Nispel's Friday the 13th reboot featured sweaty sex and generous amounts of naked female flesh, but the summer and fall seasons have been curiosly bereft of talked-about sex scenes or body parts. Jessica Biel's bravely-bared breasts and backside in Powder Blue went direct to video, Hayden Panetierre nonchalantly limited her exposure to 'side boobage' in I Love You, Beth Cooper, and Megan Fox decided to keep her nipples to herself in the proudly feminist relationship drama ('cause it sure wasn't horror) Jennifer's Body.

In my youth, movies educated me about the wonderful diversity of naked bodies. Today, television and the Internet have stolen much of the thunder once claimed exclusively by the theatrical experience. (Case in point: Susan Sarandon's daughter, »

Jessica Biel is Effin’ Engaged

29 October 2009 10:21 AM, PDT | Beyond Hollywood | See recent Beyond Hollywood news »

The full title of the movie is “F**king Engaged”, but you can expect plenty of asterisks in the title cause, gosh, Americans aren’t ready to spell out “f**king”! (Hell, even I’m not doing it! God, we suck.) Anyways, former “Seventh Heaven” teenager Jessica Biel is all grown up and engaged. Effin’ engaged, as it turns out. The actress, soon to be seen in Joe Carnahan’s “The A-Team”, will star and produce a raunchy comedy called “F**king Engaged”, a movie title that will surely be changed by the time the film approaches production (or if they’re slightly brave, until the release date approaches, but make no mistake about it, it’s gonna get changed). Written by Julia Brownell, the comedy will star Biel as one-half of a couple (the sexy, fantasy-worthy half) who make a pact to have sex every day leading up to »

Casting Notes: Farmiga and Caan go to Buffalo; New Gigs for Anne Heche and Jessica Biel

29 October 2009 9:30 AM, PDT | Slash Film | See recent Slash Film news »

Some decent casting notes cropped up in the trade breaks last night, and because I'm just this sort of nice guy I'm about to round up the best for you. First involves James Caan and Vera Farmiga, who've just joined Keanu Reeves in Henry's Crime. The film, you may remember, is written by Anvil! director Sacha Gervasi, and will be directed by Malcolm Venville, recently of 44-Inch Chest. Farmiga is the love interest for Reeves, who is falsely accused of robbing a bank in Buffalo. Producer Jordan Schur calls the script "a genius comic fable." Gervasi himself called it "a twisted, romantic comedy, very dark and funny," which the trades refer to it as a romantic comedy and Capraesque. So who knows what the hell we'll see out of this one. [Variety] After the break, Anne Heche gets love and Jessica Biel gets laid. Anne Heche, meanwhile, will show up in »

News: Jessica Biel Engaging in Filth!

29 October 2009 9:26 AM, PDT | HeyUGuys.co.uk | See recent HeyUGuys news »

The Hollywood Reporter today broke news that will be sure to tarnish the image of squeaky clean (yawn inspiring) gym bunny Jessica Biel.  Jess has signed on to produce and star in Julia Brownell’s debut feature F*cking Engaged.  The ‘raunchy comedy’ centres around a couple who pledge to have sex every day in the approach to their wedding to avoid turning into their parents.  It sounds hilarious.

Biel, currently shooting her role as sassy Carissa Sosa in the new A-Team Movie, will next be seen in romantic comedy Nailed alongside Catherine Keener and Jake Gyllenhall.  We hold out more hope for this and for the spring release of ensemble comedy Valentine’s Day in which she will reportedly appear.  Nevertheless, tabloids worldwide will be delighted they may finally (and explicitly) confirm that Jessica Biel is engaged.  Jess herself might also be rather glad of a role where she »

Jessica Biel Signs On for a Sex Romp

29 October 2009 7:03 AM, PDT | Cinematical | See recent Cinematical news »

What's the best way to make Hollywood see past your sexy looks? Star in a sex comedy! No? Well someone's in for a shock then... The Hollywood Reporter posts that Jessica Biel will star in a new comedy called F***ing Engaged.

The brainchild of new screenwriter Julia Brownell (developed with Dan Halsted and Cameron Bunce), the flick is aiming to be "a raunchy comedy about a couple who make a pact to have sex every day leading to their wedding so they don't turn into their crusty old parents." Correct me if I'm wrong, married folks, but isn't the whole sexless crustiness due to sexless lives after the marriage, rather than before? If anything, I'd imagine that overdoing the sex pre-wedding would kill the hormones quicker. And who will play the lucky bloke?

Should this be in a different vein than her last comedy, I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry, »

The raunchy comedy follows a couple that decides to have sex every day leading up to their wedding, hoping to avoid their parents' complacency and tweak the MPAA into an unnecessary ratings controversy that will stir press ahead of the inevitable festival debut and help move thousands and thousands more unrated DVD's and maybe even be funny. In any case, every straight male actor in town will have requested a reading of this by lunchtime. [THR]
