Christmas has come early for those of you desperately wishing for just one more story about vampires. Heat Vision reports that the folks behind The Twilight Saga, Summit Entertainment, are putting together a project called Vlad, centering around the early years of Vlad the Impaler, who was the inspiration for the original Dracula myth.
More post-jump…
Plan B, aka Brad Pitt’s production company, will be producing the film and Dede Gardner and Pitt are listed as co-producers. The script was penned by Charlie Hunnam, who we’ve seen as Jackson Teller on Sons of Anarchy on FX and the film will be directed by Anthony Mandler, who’s done music videos for Eminem, Rihanna and The Killers. Collider tells us this will be an action-adventure film and that Summit was already developing the project but it got an energy boost when Mandler came on board.

During our Afm coverage, we premiered the promo poster for The Promised Land (formerly The Wettest Country in the World), the next film from director John Hillcoat and writer Nick Cave (who previously teamed up to make The Proposition) with Shia Labeouf, Ryan Gosling, and Amy Adams set to star. However, in tiny print at the bottom was the note “credits not contractual”. With that in mind, it looks like Amy Adams won’t be heading to The Promised Land now that she is with child.
During the press junket for her upcoming film Leap Year, Adams said that she just finished David O. Russell’s The Fighter and that she’ll be taking a break from filmmaking until next summer. While it sucks that the highly talented Adams won’t be part of Hillcoat’s killer collaboration, hopefully they’ll find a replacement of equal or greater talent. Unfortunately for The Promised Land, »

'We'd like to follow in the 'Sex and the City' footsteps and do a movie,' says the HBO show's executive producer.

Beverly Hills, California — Not too long ago, the gals from "Sex and the City" surprised Hollywood with their massively successful debut on the big screen, opening the eyes of studio execs to the possibilities of life after TV. Now, Mark Wahlberg is mapping out a blueprint that will similarly take the "Entourage" gang to a theater near you — and will impact the show's final episodes.
Recently, Wahlberg raised eyebrows when he said that if packs of women went out and made "Sex and the City: The Movie" a hit, he thought men would do the same for his show about a pack of dudes who laugh, love and make a living in Los Angeles. The HBO hit is currently in »

Hit U.S. TV show Entourage is heading to the big screen, according to executive producer Mark Wahlberg.
The Planet of the Apes star has revealed the programme, starring Adrian Grenier and Jeremy Piven, will continue for two more seasons, but after that he wants the comedy drama to be transformed into a film.
He says, "We'll see; there could be more (seasons). But then, a movie."
If the film goes ahead it won't be the first recent TV hit to be adapted into a movie - a Sex And the City picture hit cinemas last year, while animated family The Simpsons took to the big screen in 2007. »

At the premiere for his latest movie, The Lovely Bones, Mark Wahlberg announced that the TV show Entourage, for which Wahlberg serves as Executive Producer, will likely continue for two more seasons before hitting the big screen.
We'll see, there could be more. But then, a movie.
A spokeswoman for HBO told THR that the network wasn't against the idea.
It is not out of the realm of possibility. Right now, the creators are concentrating on the new season.
It wouldn't be the first time an HBO show has left the network for the big screen, with Sex and The City already proving that a movie adaptation can be successful.

Dread Central hit The Lovely Bones press conference in Beverly Hills, CA, where director Peter Jackson, along with the film’s stars Stanley Tucci, Saoirse Ronan, Rose Mclver, Mark Wahlberg, Susan Sarandon and Rachel Weisz, talked up their cinematic incarnation of Alice Sebold’s best-selling novel.
Centering around lead character ‘Susie Salmon’ (Ronan) who is murdered by child-rapist and killer ‘Mr. Harvey’ (played in the film by Tucci), The Lovely Bones’ source material is at times a challenging read in its portrayal of violence, particularly in the first chapter. The tome though at its core focuses on the effect of the crime on the victim and her relatives, as Susie watches them from a hallucinogenic limbo while struggling with her feelings of vengeance towards her killer and her empathy toward the plight of those that remain. Jackson, whose previous efforts include the rather fantastical The Lord of the Rings trilogy and 2005’s King Kong, »

Over the past few years we have fallen in love with the wildly outrageous Drama (Kevin Dillon), the dependable and trust-worthily E (Kevin Connolly), the handsome moviestar Vince (Adrian Grenier) and the goofy yet lovable Turtle (Jerry Ferrara). Every season, Entourage (TV) comes and goes on HBO and fans are left wanting more from the Queens' native. News hit the wire that creator Mark Wahlberg has his sights set on Entourage the movie ala Sex and the City. The wild and crazy adventure began on HBO in 2004 when we were introduced to four extremely different characters living the ultimate plush lifestyle in Los Angeles. You had Vince the moviestar, his B-list actor brother Drama and their childhood friends E and Turtle from back home in Queens. Not only is the comedy a laugh out loud riot, it is has made stars of the entire cast. Jeremy Piven who plays Vince's »

It's probably fitting that Entourage could end up as a movie. Mark Wahlberg said on the red carpet that there are two more seasons of the show on HBO, and he should know since he's a producer and all. He told The Hollywood Reporter, "There could be more. But then, a movie."
It reads funny, but I think the interpretation is that there are two seasons HBO has committed to, and if they choose to do more, that might happen. No matter what, Wahlberg is planning to do a movie after the show wraps up. HBO even says it's a good bet to happen, meaning...it's going to happen.
"It is not out of the realm of possibility," said the network's spokesperson. "Right now, the creators are concentrating on the new season." »

One of the few television series that I've ever bought that I just can't get into is HBO's Entourage. It's hard to explain, but I've found it almost impossible to get into the show's non-narrative and become interested in surface level characters (save for Jeremy Piven's Ari Gold). That said, it should come as no surprise that I'm moved in no way when series exec. producer Mark Wahlberg tells THR at the recent junket for The Lovely Bones that he foresees the potential for an Entourage movie. According to Wahlberg, it is still in the "we'll see" territory, but he feels that there could be more story there to tell. The show itself was just picked up for its seventh season, and Wahlberg has been quoted as saying that the Doug Ellin-created show has about two seasons left in it, then possibly a movie. I don't want to beat a dead horse on this, but »

According to producer Mark Wahlberg, the HBO TV series "Entourage" will run for two more seasons before expanding into a big-screen feature film.
HBO recently renewed the show for a seventh season of episodes and is keen on spinning-off another popular series into a movie, after "Sex and The City" followed its TV run with a $65 million budgeted theatrical feature, earning $152,647,258 domestic and $262,605,528 foreign for a worldwide total of $415,252,786.
Debuting on HBO, July 18, 2004 "Entourage" was created by Doug Ellin, following the rise of actor 'Vincent Chase', an 'A-list' film star and his childhood friends from Queens, New York City, as they navigate the terrain of Hollywood, California.
Mark Wahlberg and Stephen Levinson are co-executive producers, as the premise is loosely based on Wahlberg's experiences as an up-and-coming movie star.

It looks like everyone's favorite group of super-cool Hollywoodians might be coming to the big screen before you know it. At the premiere for the new film The Lovely Bones, Entourage producer Mark Wahlberg discussed the possibility of the hit HBO series ending with a film, CanMag.com is reporting.
Walberg reportedly predicted that the series will go on two for two more seasons before finally ending with a big-screen finish. That would make Entourage clock in at eight seasons total, longer than any HBO series in recent memory (Curb Your Enthusiasm just finished its seventh season, and is the longest still-running show on the network).
HBO has not denied the possibility, but rather side-stepped the question completely. "It is not out of the realm of possibility," an HBO spokeswoman stated. "Right now, the creators are concentrating on the new season."
HBO has previously gone the movie route with their series Sex and the City, »

Is there a more stale show on TV than Entourage?
Its past season was especially painful, as the writers have clearly stopped even trying to come up with creative storylines or witty dialogue. They pretty much just stick the main characters in a room and assume viewers will stick around.
So far, many have; mostly due to the abundance of breasts and the use of DVR.
But that doesn't mean the show should get carried away with itself, as producer Mark Wahlberg seems to have when asked about the future of Entourage. He told The Hollywood Reporter there will be two more seasons and then:
"We'll see, there could be more. But then, a movie."
About this big screen plan, HBO replied: "It is not out of the realm of possibility, but the producers are concentrating on the new season."

At The Lovely Bones premiere, Mark Wahlberg spoke with The Hollywood Reporter, and said that there are at least two more seasons of Entourage coming to television, then added, "But then, a movie."
As most of you probably already know, Wahlberg serves as a producer on the series, so given that and his existing motion picture clout, it's a good bet he knows of what he speaks.
Meanwhile, HBO hasn't denied the possibility. "It is not out of the realm of possibility," said the network's spokesperson. "Right now, the creators are concentrating on the new season."
Of course, it's not an uncommon trend; quite the opposite, in fact. Sex and the City's big screen adventure earned $415M on a budget of $65M so there's plenty of incentive to turn fan favorite series into big screen motion pictures, and discussions have floated in recent years about other shows hitting the big screen as well, »

From heaven, Susie keeps watch over her grieving family and friends, as well as her brazen killer and the sad detective working on her case. The film stars Rachel Weisz, »

Mark Wahlberg, executive producer and the loose inspiration for “Entourage,” said he wants to make at least two more seasons of the HBO show before making a movie with the characters.
Hollywood gossip hound and X-Men Origins: Wolverine pirate Roger Friedman cornered Wahlberg at a premiere after-party. Nevermind the guy wants to have a good time and celebrate The Lovely Bones, now he has to answer questions from this hen.
Wahlberg told him that there are two seasons left of the show, which would take it into 2011. “We’ll see, there could be more. But then, a movie,” Wahlberg added.
Entourage: The Movie? Why? The show peaked and has nothing left. What was once the male alternative to “Sex and the City” has become a formulaic soap opera for dudes. “Drama” did something stupid again? Unbelievable. Vinnie Chase “banged” another broad? Do tell. High fives all around, bro.

This past fall saw the debut of the supernatural horror/comedy Jennifer’s Body, and with the film's Blu-ray and DVD release being only a few weeks away (December 29th), I thought it might be interesting to take a look back at some of the most successful high school horror films that have been released over the past 10 to 15 years.
Jennifer’s Body is a slick production, equipped with fresh young stars, a hip soundtrack, and, of course, strings of "clever" dialogue. And that’s the criteria I’ve chosen to adhere to when working on this top ten list. Some of the films included here aren’t necessarily my favorites, but they’ve been impactful and deserve the call-out all the same. At the risk of spoiling some of the choices, I chose 1996 as the eligibility year for the simple reason that it was the beginning of the glossy, »

I don't really understand why people rag on HBO's "Entourage" so much. Sure, the show has had its stumbles. But it's a funny show that, at its heart, is all about celebrity lifestyle wish fulfillment. Those who whine about how shallow it is, how it's about little more than bare skin and celebrity cameos, are kind of missing the point. And while it's easy to just shrug and say "their loss," the whiners may soon stand in the way of a new development that hit the tubes today.
At the premiere for "The Lovely Bones," star Mark Wahlberg had some things to say about the future of the series, Showbiz 411 reports. Specifically, he said that he sees two more seasons for the show. And then perhaps something a little bit bigger.
"We’ll see, there could be more [than two season]," he said. "But then, a movie." A... movie? I've actually always thought »

I think that this is cool. I have been sticking with the series even with its lows in story concept over the past few years. My biggest concern is how do you take a series that last 20 minutes per episode and make it into a feature film? I guess the argument there would be that the series episodes all together work like a feature film.
What I’d like to see in the film version is Vince actually find »
