Jake Green and Robert Hawkins plan a road trip to stop this.

Tonight is the series finale of Jericho. For real this time. Much as you may hope, I doubt CBS will un-cancel it again. Jericho Dropped By Cbs

23 March 2008 3:56 PM, PDT | From wenn.com | See recent WENN news

U.S. TV drama Jericho has been axed by network Cbs over its dwindling audience.

The series - a portrayal of America post-nuclear attacks - has attracted a small, devoted group of fans, who begged Cbs bosses to green light a second series last year after unimpressive viewing figures.

Part of their plea involved sending 18,000 kilograms (40,000 pounds) of peanuts - a reference to a line of dialogue uttered by the show's actor Skeet Ulrich - to the broadcaster.

Cbs responded by commissioning seven more episodes - but audience numbers have continued to plummet, forcing the network to make Tuesday's show the last.

Spokeswoman Nina Tassler says, "Without question, there are passionate viewers watching this programme. We simply wish there were more. We have no regrets bringing the show back for a second try."

Elsewhere, Robert Hawkins slowly but surely continued to convince Major Beck the Cheyenne government is full of liars and criminals.

They reshow the carnage after Ravenwood's assault on the Richmond farm, and damnit, Stanley (jericho/profile/brad_beyer.aspx">Brad Beyer) is breaking my heart. They discern it was Ravenwood, and Jake (jericho/profile/skeet-ulrich.aspx">Skeet Ulrich) orders protection for Mimi (jericho/profile/alicia_coppola.aspx">Alicia Coppola). Major Beck is called away to New Bern, where someone set off a pipe bomb at the J&R office. Beck orders no retribution against Goetz.

Dr. Kenchy is doing his best to save Mimi. Jake gives everyone guns to set up a protective border around the hospital. Kenchy hires Darcy as a nurse,
