Nicole Kidman gives People magazine's readers a peek to her personal life by answering their questions, one of which is about her dream job should she isn't a film star. "I'd love to be an interior designer," she answers a question presented by Jessica Lynne Bryson from Chattanooga, Tenn. "I just love walking into a room and redoing it. When my girlfriends are buying an apartment, they'll always ask me to come along because I'm going 'You can knock that wall down, just put a little bit of paint there'."
When asked by Anna Marie Pugh from Louisville, Ohio to mention her favorite mundane chores, the 42-year-old screen beauty has this to say, "Strangely enough, I love putting clothes in the washing machine. I would always do the washing growing up - that was one of my jobs." She then adds, "And I quite like ironing shirts."
And when it comes to her biggest quirk, »

When Nicole Kidman agreed to answer People's reader questions, little did she know she'd be quizzed on her cooking skills (not great, she admits) or to reveal her biggest quirk (she loves coffee - but mostly foam). But the Oscar-winning actress, 42, who plans on spending the holidays Down Under, was happy to open up about her life in Nashville while doing press in New York City for her upcoming movie musical Nine, which opens in theaters Christmas Day. As for husband Keith Urban's whereabouts? The country star played dutiful husband, watching the Tennessee Titans in the adjoining room while »

Here's the lowdown on the highly anticipated movie musical "Nine": Rob Marshall's latest 'should' still get nominated for Best Picture, but that's only because there are ten nominations and the competition is weak. A blunt assessment to be sure, but the truth hurts. Starpower will also help get it in and if The Weinstein Company and Relativity Media are lucky, the once-in-a-lifetime appeal of Nicole Kidman, Penelope Cruz, Marion Cotillard, Judi Dench, Fergie, Sophia Loren, Kate Hudson and Daniel Day-Lewis in a movie together should lead to pleasant financial returns, but this doesn't rank among the highly respected musicals of the... »

London, Dec 4 (Ians) Hollywood actress Nicole Kidman has revealed her teenage years were “awful” because boys didn’t find her attractive as she was tall.
The actress says she had a growth spurt when she was 13 which saw her tower over most of her classmates and stopped her receiving any attention from the boys in her school, reports contactmusic.com.
“I’m 5 feet 11 inches but taller when I have heels on. But I was this tall when I was 13. It was awful. No boys liked me. It was tough,” she said. »

If time is an avenger, then the Naughts have had it both ways with Nicole Kidman. In the span of a decade, Kidman was transformed from arm candy into an artist -- the rare movie star who made genuinely interesting choices -- eclipsing her ex-husband, Tom Cruise, who filed for divorce in 2000, with an Oscar win and the embrace, finally, of her peers on her own terms.
However, as the '00s limp to a close, Kidman seems to be succumbing to a personal vendetta against time: by manipulating her face into a mask -- a waxworks ideal of "Nicole Kidman" -- rather than continuing to deploy it as a functional instrument, an artist's tool, Kidman is taking perhaps the most surprising risk of her career: she has chosen to age into glacial iconicity. In this, she exemplifies a decade that treated actresses with ambivalence, waving all the flags of »

We never gave this decade a name.
The Oughts? The Naughties? The Zeroes? For all of the momentous things that happened in the past almost ten years -- and 2000, for many reasons, does seem like another faraway era -- nothing managed to stick by way of a label. And so, now, it seems a little strange to find ourselves rounding up a decade we couldn't even decide on a designation for.
In that spirit, instead of offering more best-of-the-'00s lists, we decided we'd look for the identity of the decade in what we know best -- the movies. We give you the Naughts Project, a two-week series of features arguing for the emblematic people, pairings, films and, because, we couldn't resist, television of the 2000s.
When we look back, thirty years from now, we expect these choices to stand in for all that's occurred in this first span of »

It was a solo act, but Kate Hudson dazzled the crowd in London's Leicester Square Thursday night for the glamorous world premiere of the all-star movie musical Nine. Wearing a white strapless gown encrusted with crystals and vertigo-inducing white platform heels, Hudson - currently linked to Yankee star Alex Rodriguez - walked the red carpet by herself and told reporters that her all-singing, all-dancing role was a dream come true, not only for herself but for Ryder, her 5-year-old son with former husband, musician Chris Robinson. "It's like the most exhilarating, joyful thing in the world - I had so much fun, »

Kate Hudson is keen to make her debut on the West End stage after her role in new movie musical Nine gave her a taste for theatre work.
The Almost Famous actress is currently starring in the singing and dancing film alongside Nicole Kidman and Penelope Cruz.
She would love to appear onstage in London, but insists she would only consider a theatre role if her five year old son Ryder was happy to move to the U.K.
Hudson tells WENN, "This (London) is one of my favourite cities, here and New York. (A stage play) would be fun. I mean, I'm down for anything, just as long as it's the right opportunity and timing for my family. You know, it's hard when you have a kid to move around. Your decision-making process and things like that becomes a lot harder, but I would never shy away from something like that... in the right circumstance." »

Pale Force is ridiculous. Let's just get that out of the way. Originally aired in pieces on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien," it follows the adventures of a superhero called Pale Man, a taller, fitter version of creator Jim Gaffigan. Pale Man is the coolest most popular guy on the planet. Everyone loves him and admires him deeply, including Conan O'Brien, whose dream comes true when he becomes Pale Man's sidekick.
However ridiculous it may be, Pale Force is absurd in a completely awesome way. Every little episode, under the pretense of pale jokes, is basically an ongoing jab at Conan: in the Pale Force universe, he's assumed to either be gay or a woman by virtually everyone who comes across him, and, let's face it, for good reason; he's effeminate, bizarrely weak, and has a squeaky pre-pubescent voice (provided by Gaffigan).
That -- Gaffigan's steadfast devotion to keeping the »

Most of the cast of were out in force last night at the World Premiere of Rob Marshall’s latest movie, Nine. Penelope Cruz, Kate Hudson, Nicole Kidman and Dame Judi Dench, 4 of the seven leading ladies from the movie were all in attendance in London’s Leicester Square and all looked fabulous (no matter what the Daily Mail say about Nicole Kidman’s outfit!). Daniel Day-Lewis, the lead male in the movie (who also gets to work with Fergie, Sophie Loren, Marion Cotillard – poor chap!) plays director Guido Contini struggles to find harmony in his professional and personal lives, as he engages in dramatic relationships with his wife, his mistress, his muse, his agent, and his mother.
Nine is out 18th December and looks fantastic with big songs, a wonderful cast and a great director in the form of Rob Marshall. I’ve put some more photos which are from the Daily Mail below. »

Speaking on the red carpet at the London premiere of the musical movie in Leicester Square last night (03.12.09), the 35-year-old Spanish actress admitted her singing was a bit rusty because she hadn't done it in public for years. The 35-year-old star told Bang Showbiz: "Singing was terrifying because it was new and because it was my first time. "It was like doing theatre, but I only did theatre as a student in Spain." Penelope – who plays seductress, Carla Albanese, who seduces Daniel Day-Lewis’ character, director Guido Contini, in the film - also revealed her sexy look in the movie was aided by some very good costume designers. She said: "The woman who designed the costumes for every one of us, I think she really must be one of the most amazing artists." Penelope was joined on the red carpet by several of her co-stars, including Nicole Kidman, 42, Kate Hudson, 30, and Dame Judi Dench, »

With 5 Oscars under their belts between them (and plenty more nominations besides) the cast of the new Rob Marshall musical Nine could be the most decorated singing and dancing team to ever walk up Odeon Leicester Square’s red carpet, with more A-listers in attendance than you could shake a dictaphone at.And though the shivering wintery scene in London may have felt like a million miles away from the summer spent in Rome and Milan shooting the film, the likes of Kate Hudson, Penelope Cruz and Nicole Kidman soon made everyone forget where they were, or, in some cases, even who they were.Leading the troupe up into the world premiere was the production’s leading man, Daniel Day-Lewis (who plays the flawed film director Guido), complete with cowboy-style shirt and fast boots, he quickly nipped into his seat, barely uttering a word.Fortunately his mentor (of sorts) in the film, »

The ladies of Nine got all decked out to hit the red carpet in London this evening. Kate Hudson and Penelope Cruz were showstoppers in their dramatic gowns, while Nicole Kidman easily earned the title of leggiest look. Daniel Day Lewis sported his unique fashion sense surrounded by five of his women, including Judi Dench. Fergie missed the festivities after having to be in La for the Grammy Nomination event last night, but there are more red carpets to come before their ensemble movie is out on Christmas day. Kate Hudson spent the morning doing some UK press after yesterday's sightseeing with Alex Rodriguez, though he's still not taking the red carpet duo plunge just yet.
