Dr. Camille "Cam" Saroyan is the boss. Chief Coroner of New York for two years, Assistant Federal Coroner before that , she was employed by Dr. Goodman to oversee the Foresnic Anthropology department. Wasting no time, she dives right in to administrating and then getting her hands dirty in helping the Squint Squad solve cases. Focused on efficient solution to cases, rather than always finding the truth, she originally clashed with Dr. Brennan and therefore Brennan's colleagues. Trust and understanding slowly began to build between them, particularly when Cam defends the actions of the Squad, each winning the respect of the other, however the relationship remains tentative.

Part of this is attributable perhaps to the fact previous to her joining the Jeffersonian, Cam had a relationship with Booth. The relationship was rekindled for a brief time, ending abruptly when she was poisoned by a serial killer. Barely surviving the attack, their relationship was ended by Booth to protect those he is close to.

Within her hard, professional exterior, there is a soft, caring heart. Coming from a close family, Cam was being pressured by her father to settle down and so has him believing she is still in a relationship with Booth. A sucker for a romance novel, she is softening and becoming a valuable member of the team.
